Dear Family in Christ,
There is an old saying which states: “Pray as if the outcome were totally up to God. Work as if it is totally up to you.” When we face a decision to walk by God’s promises in a certain area of our lives, should we turn the whole matter over to God and pray that his will be done … or should we pray for guidance and then put forth every bit of effort to bring about a certain result.

In our epistle for Sunday, Paul guides us to consider a life of faith that is based on both realities: We are saved by grace through no effort of our own. That is a gift. We cannot work to earn it. It is an accomplished fact of our life with Christ. Our citizenship is in heaven with Christ. But at the same time, we are created for good works on the earth which result from this love.
The Good works of our ministry at The Branches are being recognized by Middle Township this coming Tuesday evening for Sandra, Terri, and all the volunteers who gave all of themselves to the community and county throughout the pandemic. We are grateful for their work, service, and leadership. Truly their discipleship is one to be admired. Please see below for event details.
As David's time with us draws nearer to an end, I'd like to recognize his good work, service, and ministry to St. Mary's.
Music ministry is a divine responsibility. David lifted our hearts in praise and worship for the Glory of God by helping the Gospel come to life through song. It is with deep gratitude and goodwill blessings that I am reaching out to all of you to collect a purse to assist David in his journey forward. All envelopes, cards, and donations may be given or sent to the office marked for David Condo. They will be collected, remain sealed, and given to David at his last performance on Easter Sunday. May God continue to richly bless David in all his endeavors.
May God's blessing be upon each of you this day and always.
In the peace of Christ,

A gathering to remember those lost, recognize those who helped
A candle-lighting will be the culmination of “COVID at One Year: Light After Darkness,” to be held at the Ockie Wisting Recreation Complex at 6 pm, at which The
Branches will be honored for their
dedication to serving our neighbors in need during this past year.
|
|
Middle Township officials believe it’s an important occasion to acknowledge, both because of the residents who were lost to COVID and the community members who courageously stepped up as essential workers and volunteers.
A bell-ringing to remember each Middle Township resident lost to COVID will be held. The bell was original to an old schoolhouse in Cape May Court House. The Great Commission Baptist Church loaned the bell for the event.
Cape Regional Medical Center will be presented with a plaque expressing the gratitude of Middle Township residents. Presentation of Middle Matters Awards will be presented to organizations. The Branches will receive a plaque honoring the dedication of Sandra Lockhart and Terri Mascione, and their team of volunteers to serving our neighbors in need.
If you would like your loved one to be honored at the event, please email their name and photo to Nancy McDevitt nmcdevitt@middletownship.com.
Residents who attend the event at Ockie Wisting Recreation Complex,
7 Fulling Mill Rd, Rio Grande, must follow social distancing protocols and wear masks, and are asked to stay with their groups. The event also will be live streamed on the Middle Township Facebook page.

Dear Friends,
For this weekend’s communion voluntary, I will play a selection from L’Heures Mystiques (The Mystical Hours) by Léon Boëllmann (1862 - 1897). Boëllmann showed great musical aptitude from an early age, and went on to study at the École de Musique Classique et Religieuse in Paris. There he became a student of Eugène Gigout, who was so fond of Boëllmann that he adopted him into his own family. Boëllmann had a successful, though brief, career, most notably serving as organist titulaire at the Church of Saint Vincent de Paul. He died at the age of 35, most likely from tuberculosis.
Enjoy the music this weekend and stay well!
