ONLINE SIDDURIM & SHABBAT PAMPHLET
To make it easier to participate in online services, the Rabbinical Assembly has made their Shabbat and Festival siddur available online as a free download in this et tzarah (time of trouble). In addition, Cantor Chomsky has made PDFs of the transliterated weekday siddurim available using the following links:

A copy of this week's Shabbat pamphlet is available on the Tifereth Israel website for those who would like to follow along with the service at home.

SCHEDULE OF FESTIVAL SERVICES
We have prepared a complete schedule of Passover services that will take place over ZOOM. To view the entire schedule, including ZOOM links and Meeting IDs, please click HERE. We hope you will join us.
HOLIDAY SHOPPING GUIDES
This is a difficult time for planning and shopping for Passover. To help, we are providing several resources to make things easier for you.

In 2015, the Rabbinical Assembly's Law Committee approved eating kitniyot and issued a detailed responsa on the subject that you can read HERE.

The Rabbinical Assembly's Passover Guide for this year offers guidance in purchasing and the eating of kitniyot as supported by the Committee on Jewish Law and Standards of the Conservative Movement.

Finally, An even more permissive Passover food list from an Orthodox rabbinical council in California which generates an annual list of foods that, if they have the proper year-round kosher certification and are purchased before Passover, would be considered kosher for Passover. The usage of this list in your Passover shopping, which has guided Rabbis Hillel Skolnik & Sharon Barr Skolnik since before their time in Columbus, will impact your ability to find what you need in this particularly unusual year.
ANNUAL FAMILY SEDER
Just because we can't be together, doesn't mean we don't have much to celebrate.

Rabbi Skolnik and the rest of the Tifereth Israel team are hard at work planning an engaging and meaningful communal seder via  ZOOM (meeting ID: 458662031) at 6:15 pm on the evening of  Wednesday, April 8. We hope you will join from your own seder table. We will share more details about being part of our virtual seder as they become available. In the meantime, please RSVP to let us know you plan to join us.

If you have already made a reservation, we hope you will consider redirecting your payment to the synagogue as a donation to help sustain us through this difficult time. If you would prefer a refund, please contact  Virginia Terry  at 614-928-3288.
REACH OUT TO OUR RABBIS
Find yourself with more questions and concerns about Passover in this year when every thing is different? Rabbi Skolnik (614-928-3297) and Rabbi Braver (614-928-3294) are available to help and look forward to hearing from you.
SELL YOUR CHAMETZ
Rabbi Skolnik feels it is an honor to act as the selling agent for anyone who wishes to partake in this important mitzvah, and to do so free of charge. It has, though, long been the practice in Jewish communities that a donation is made, most often to the Rabbi’s discretionary fund, as a token of appreciation.

You can sell your chametz until 1:00 pm on Tuesday, April 7, by using our online form or you can use our printable form, fill it out, scan it, and email it back to Joy Contreras.
FREE CHICKEN FOR THOSE IN NEED
At this time of great uncertainty many families are concerned with their ability to provide adequate kosher-for-Passover meals for their families. In response to this need, JewishColumbus has made funds available to provide kosher-for-Passover chickens to families who are fearful of, or already facing, financial hardship.

The Columbus Board of Rabbis and the JCC of Greater Columbus will be administering the distribution of 1000 frozen chickens starting Monday, March 30. If you would like to receive one of these chickens, please click HERE .

UPDATES
SPOTLIGHT 2020: CANTOR CHOMSKY'S OPUS
As a community, we are very excited and eager to honor Cantor Jack Chomsky as he prepares for retirement after 38 years of music, service, and leadership at Congregation Tifereth Israel. Unfortunately, due to the current health safety crisis, the beautiful Shabbat dinner and one-of-a-kind concert planned in celebration of our cantor must be postponed to an as of yet undetermined future date.

We are extremely grateful to the members of our community who have already committed to a sponsorship and/or made dinner/ticket purchases. While we await clarity on what the future holds, we encourage you, if you have not already done so, to continue to honor Cantor Chomsky in this way and click the link below to become a sponsor or purchase event tickets.

DOING BUSINESS WHILE CTI REMAINS CLOSED FOR COVID-19
The safest, most effective way to make membership payments and contributions while the synagogue remains closed is to use our electronic payment options. Electronic payments are not only efficient, but support the social distancing requirements demanded by the current health crisis. If you prefer, payments and contributions can also be made by phone.

LOGIN TO YOUR MEMBERSHIP ACCOUNT
You can access your account by going to the Tifereth Israel website and clicking on " Member Login " at the top of the page. If you need help logging in, please contact Navah Moore .

PAY BY PHONE
Use your credit card or make an electronic funds transfer directly from your bank account. For donations, including yahrzeit donations, please contact Wendy Lake by dialing 614-253-8523 and selecting option 8 for a staff directory or call Virginia Terry at 614-928-3288.

SURVEY FOR THOSE WHO NEED HELP OR CAN OFFER ASSISTANCE
After coordinating with  Jewish Family Services , we have created a survey , which we would encourage you to complete. It asks if you have the means to offer some kind of assistance, require assistance, or would like to share with us in confidence the name of someone who might need assistance but does not know how to ask. We are constantly brainstorming ways to protect the health of everyone in the community while still offering a way to help. Please fill out the survey and thank you, in advance, to all those who are able to help and to those who have the courage to ask for help in this time of need. Click HERE to find the survey and please feel free to share it with anyone who might need it.
TIFERETH CARES:
MAKING & DELIVERING SOUP TO MEMBERS IN NEED
Whether recovering from an illness, dealing with the isolation of COVID-19, mourning a los s, or adjusting to life with an infant, sometimes we just need a little reminder that our community cares. That’s why we’re organizing a new initiative to deliver pre-made soup and challah to congregants in need!

ENTRYWAY PAVING BRICKS AVAILABLE FOR PURCHASE
Paving bricks at Tifereth Israel's parking lot entrance are available to purchase. An eight-by-eight-inch brick with up to six lines of text (each containing up to 18 characters per space) costs $360. SUPPORT CTI WHEN YOU SHOP ONLINE OR AT KROGER
Help provide needed funds to Tifereth Israel, without changing your shopping habits. AmazonSmile  is operated by Amazon and has the same products, prices, and shopping features as Amazon.com. But when you shop on AmazonSmile, 0.5% of your purchase is donated to Tifereth Israel. Search for us by name when you log into your account. Tifereth Israel also earns through the   Kroger Community Rewards   program. If you have a Kroger Plus card, please register it with the program and select Congregation Tifereth Israel to receive a donation based on your purchases each time you use your card. Please encourage your family and friends to use both of these services when they shop.
Congregation Tifereth Israel is a grateful recipient of resources from Jewish Columbus that are used to help ensure the safety of our members and guests. Please support the Jewish Columbus Annual Campaign.
