STAYING CONNECTED WITH SUNCOAST MCC MARCH 17, 2020
|
|
We pray that you are well and are taking precautions to stay healthy. At SunCoast MCC, we continue to monitor our response to COVID-19. To date, we are not aware of any known COVID-19 infections among SunCoast congregants. However, we understand that this is a serious concern and are taking the following precautions.
Please stay tuned for updates to this information, and we deeply appreciate your cooperation in our attempts to curtail the spread of this virus. Many in our church are immune compromised and this is essential.
If you have any comments on how we can stay connected, please send your ideas and suggestions to us at
Board@suncoastmcc.com.
We plan on sending regular communications.
If you know of someone who is not receiving these communications, please ask them to send us their email.

LOVING NOTE FROM VICKIE AND NANCY
|
We miss you. Our top priority right now is to continue to find ways to stay connected with you. This week, we held our worship service virtually. While there were some technical issues, thankfully, we live in an age that virtual church is a possibility. We made several enhancements to our Live Streaming to ensure a positive experience for everyone. If you missed the service on March 15, you can view it now in its entirety.

WORSHIP WITH US ON SUNDAY, MARCH 22 AT 10AM
|
(A small group of worship leaders, to include musicians, readers and communion celebrants will be there to provide as optimal of an experience as possible.)
This Sunday's sermon with Rev. Vickie Miller will be on
The First Dinner: Risking Rejection
Besides the Last Supper, Holy Week contains another important story that happens at dinner. Earlier in the week, Jesus and his followers gather for a meal, and a woman shows up unexpectedly to anoint Jesus in an extravagant show of devotion. To say she caused quite a “stir” might be understating it a bit. We imagine ourselves in the room and we see the looks of judgment and even outrage on the faces around us. Are we ourselves moved by her generosity and outpouring of emotion? Or are we uncomfortable as Jesus refers to his own death? Does our complaining or anger really serve to hide our own fear? Jesus invites us to tell this story “in remembrance of her.” What uncomfortable stories are we called to tell in our time?

This energizing and centering class involves breath practices (pranayama and pratyahara), movement (asana), and meditation (dharana and dhyana).

Church Building
The church building will be closed to the public with staff working either from home or alone in the office. Please limit your access to the building unless absolutely necessary. This is especially important if you are not feeling well, have travelled by air or on a cruise, been in close contact with someone who has, or is an active health care worker who may have been exposed. Even those who do not feel sick nor have the symptoms may be a carrier and transmit it to others.
Ministries
Please find creative ways to meet with your ministry groups through technology or phone contact. Our goal is to minimize the number of person-to-person contacts and limit access to the church facility while also continuing to support our on-going ministries. Stay in touch. If anyone in your ministry is not receiving these communications, please ask them to send us their email.
