All Saints’ Day – On Sunday, November 7, we remember those who over the past year passed from this life to the larger life in the nearer presence of God, by reading their names aloud in our worship service. If you’d like the names of your loved ones included, email the church office by 5 pm on November 2.

Dear Church Family,
We are in the Pumpkin Patch homestretch (albeit a very rainy one)!!
We are in need of a couple more volunteers for the sales tent throughout this upcoming weekend! It is my hope that you will sign up for one shift. As always, we praise God for the generous sharing of your time . . .
As I reflect on these past weeks in the Pumpkin Patch, I am humbled by the ways in which I have found food for my own soul! As I watched children laugh and run through the patch -- as I listened to parents speak of how a visit to the Pumpkin Church has become a much beloved tradition that has been upheld for over a decade -- as I experienced the blessing of visiting with many of you in the sales tent -- my heart is filled with gratitude, joy and hope.
The fundraising efforts of our beloved Pumpkin Patch have already raised over $23,000.00. A large portion of those funds will go towards supporting the indigenous farming communities in New Mexico that grow our glorious pumpkins and the remainder will be donated to Global H.O.P.E.'s continued Emergency Relief efforts for the people of Haiti.
It is my prayer that your experiences in the Pumpkin Patch have provided glimpses of God's love -- as is found in the shared work of a dedicated and faithful community. Thank you for your generous support of this beloved ministry of the Hills Church!
Yours In Christ,
Rev. Anne Marie and the Pumpkin Patch Ministry Team

As we prepare the church profile for prospective applicants for our new settled Senior minister, we will be asking for your input. For the next four weeks, a different survey, on a colored insert, will be included in your Order of Worship. Members of the transition team (we will be wearing hats) will be at each exit of the sanctuary to receive your completed questionnaire. There will also be a member of the committee for you to speak with in the Adams Board Room following the Sunday services. Thank you for participating. This week's insert is blue!

“There will come a time when we will love humanity, when we will gain the courage to fight for humanity, when we will gain the courage to fight for an equitable society for our beloved humanity, knowing, intelligently, that when we fight for humanity, we are fighting for ourselves. There will come a time. Maybe, just maybe, that time is now.”

You’ve unloaded pumpkins, raked leaves, baked cookies, taught church school, built houses, and so much more -- but have you ever run in a Turkey Trot? For over five years now the Hills Church Runners have represented the church in the annual Wellesley Turkey Trot. Join us this year on Thanksgiving morning, November 25. This is a 5K fun run held right in Wellesley. The event, which features around 2,000 runners, starts at 8:00 am. Everyone runs at their own pace. Youth and families are encouraged to join in! Children are welcome (no pets or strollers allowed) and there is a separate Kids Fun Run, less than a mile, for children 10 and under. T-shirt and bib number provided for entry fee ($30, less for children under 18). The course starts and ends at Linden Square in front of Roche Brothers, so there is plenty of free parking. It’s both fun and a great way to start the day! Importantly, the event also raises money for local charities (2021 beneficiaries TBD). Race details and registration here -- be sure to sign up for the team “Hills Church Runners” when you register at this LINK. Space is limited so you are encouraged to register soon if you are interested. Questions? Contact Doug Eisenhart. We hope to see you there!
