Eastertide Worship Series, beginning April 24, 2022: EMERGE!
The butterfly has long been a symbol of the resurrection of Jesus as well as the resurrection of believers as we emerge from the power of death.
In this Easter season, we will examine our own transformations from cocoons and tombs to the unfurled beauty of all God calls us to be.
|
If you are joining us on-line, download the Virtual Bulletin using the link and participate in worship with us.
We also ask that you share any prayer requests or needs in the Live Chat during worship. Your feedback is very important as we strive to ensure your virtual worship experience is meaningful and filled with the love of God.

EASTERTIDE: EMERGE!
Isaiah 60: 1-6; John 21: 1-19
Our Eastertide worship will focus on the butterfly, a symbol of the Resurrection from the early days of the church. Just as Jesus emerged from the darkness of Good Friday, and the tomb, the disciples also had to go through a journey from a cocoon of fear and hiding, to the light of a new day. The Risen Jesus told the disciples that everything is changing, and that their destiny will unfold – not unlike a butterfly leaving the familiar cocoon. The places they go, and the adventures and challenges of their new life are yet to be revealed! How are we emerging from the cocoon of a pandemic into a new day?

Tonight, April 22, at 7 PM we will be treated to an amazing evening of Hollywood lore and fun!
Ray Klausen, a member of SunCoast MCC, has written a memoir, “Behind the Scenes: From Hollywood to Broadway.”
Ray Klausen is famous for designing the sets for nine Broadway shows, more than 400 television shows, including Cher’s Las Vegas special, and winning three Emmy Awards for Art Direction.
His memoir has been called, “a delicious smorgasboard,” chock full of stories of superstars and Oscar winners. In addition, he tells the harrowing story of rescuing someone during the tragic MGM fire in Las Vegas. Klausen weaves throughout the book his own life story of love and coming out.
You may purchase his book in advance, and he will sign your copy. We will have a few books for purchase the day of the event.

Growing Older Gracefully Through A Pandemic!
Wednesdays, May 11,18, 25 and June 1, 10:30am to 12noon, bring a bag lunch to enjoy a time of fellowship afterwards, in person only.
Join us for a 4 week study of Sr. Joan Chittester’s powerfully affirming book, The Gift of Years: Growing OIder Gracefully, as we explore how aging influences our sense of purpose, how we face fears, navigate relationships, embrace new freedoms, learn and let go.
At SunCoast MCC, we have held several versions of this study over the years. This is version 3, especially tailored to help us explore how the pandemic has changed us, impacted us as we age.
Open to people of all ages, but, especially relevant to seniors.
Please register so we know how many to prepare for. You do not need to have the book, but, it is worthwhile...
You can register for the class by calling the Church office, using the registration form in the lobby or using the link below.
