2 Timothy 1: 7

This Sunday we continue with our series on affirming our Foundational Scriptures. Our verse for this week is embedded in Paul’s second letter to Timothy, in which he encourages Timothy to pass on the spiritual legacy he has received from his mother Eunice and grandmother Lois.

What if we really considered that we, SunCoast MCC, have a legacy that God wants us to pass on, to our families, friends and spiritual heirs? Who first told us of the open table, and the expansive love of God? And who is coming after us who needs to know what we have come to know of God’s grace and goodness?

Summer Bible Study

When: August 10

at 10:30 AM

In person, or by Zoom.

We will discuss the meaning and importance of inclusive language. Did you know inclusive language is much more than simply removing gender pronouns in how we talk about God? Next Wednesday we will discuss why it’s important to be inclusive in our language. We will consider that using inclusive language is a matter of justice to include people rather than exclude them. It is also a matter of following Jesus, that is, paying attention to Jesus as our teacher and guide. Jesus saw his mission as inviting people into an intimate, trusting relationship with God. He strove to include people in God's circle of love, not to exclude.

Join us as we delve into this topic and be sure to bring your Bible because we will be using it in our discussion! If you don’t have a Bible, we have plenty at church for you to use!

We invite everyone, including those on Zoom, to bring lunch, which we will share afterwards.
