"Over Coming Joy"
Third Sunday in Advent
This Sunday we will be hearing the story from the Gospel of Luke about John the Baptist and his fiery preaching about rooting out corruption, and encouraging people to turn their hearts and lives over to God.
It is Joy Sunday, the Sunday of the pink Advent candle, and John the Baptist seems an unlikely candidate for a joy-bringer. However, his message of justice, of hope, of changing concretely the conditions in which people lived – this kind of action and commitment is what can bring joy to so many who do not have it today!
Can we make room in our hearts to be challenged so that joy may become more common in our world? So that everyone can have a chance at a joyous life?

SunCoast MCC Protocols for Onsite Worship
|
|
The Board of Directors regularly revisits the safety protocols in relation to COVID-19. We continue to monitor the local statistics and will make changes when possible.
While we are optimistic, we also want to remain cautious and phase in looser restrictions.
For now we will:
- wear masks
- use individual communion cups
- have snacks after Worship outside on Sundays
- greet each other from a distance and refrain from congregating in the building
- be mindful of others when you greet them
The board will continue to watch the trends and, as long as they move in the right direction, will lessen restrictions along the way.
The board wishes to thank all of you for your patience and cooperation in our approach to use caution.
