Discipleship By the Sea: “Healing”
Throughout Jesus’ life we read the accounts of him healing those who were sick. He healed by the spoken word and by touch. Many of us pray for healing of others as well as for self.
Join us this Sunday as we consider healing. What does it mean to be healed? Are there other ways we experience healing in addition to physical? Are there steps we can take to facilitate healing, other than prayer?

In August 2017, we lost an amazing member of the LGBTQ Community and friend, Delores Berry.
Rev. Delores Berry was a talented evangelist who used her singing to share God's love for all.
Rev. Delores Berry began her ministry at the age of 19 and with UFMCC in 1975. She transferred her credentials and was ordained in MCC in 1983.
In 1978, Rev. Berry was one of the co-founders of the National Coalition of Black Lesbians and Gays. She assisted in organizing the first Gay and Lesbian March on Washington in D.C. and assisted in organizing the first People of Color Gay and Lesbian White House Conference.
Below is a video of Rev. Delores preforming.

Brené Brown’s “Braving the Wilderness” is an easy read that explores the relationship among spirituality, authenticity and connection, and offers strategies for helping ourselves and all who come through our doors feel a sense of true belonging. The class will focus on exploring how authenticity and spirituality strengthen connection in our cherished community.

It is recommended that you purchase the book on your own or through church, and plan to read one chapter each week. Updated SunCoast MCC Protocols for Onsite Worship
The Board of Directors regularly revisits the safety protocols in relation to COVID-19. We continue to monitor the local statistics and will make changes when possible.
We will facilitate social distancing at indoor and outdoor gatherings (indoors, people will be encouraged to sit with people they feel comfortable sitting near, people can sit farther apart, ushers will help people who need it). Chairs will be further apart outside, in small clusters.
In order to attend indoor worship, you must be fully vaccinated.
Masks are required for indoor services.
During outside worship, people will need to wear masks while singing as well as entering and leaving the Worship area. If you feel comfortable, you may remove your mask during outside worship.
