Value All Families Sunday

As we welcome

Rev. Jakob Shaw-Hero

A note from

Rev. Jakob Hero-Shaw

I am excited to be joining you this Sunday as we come together to celebrate how we value all families! I will be preaching about love. Who do we become as we love one another deeply? How are we shaped by the love we receive? You’ll hear an excerpt from the book Bread for the Resistance and a familiar passage about love from 1 Corinthians.

We’ll explore how Paul’s letter to the church in Corinth can teach us more about community and family than we might realize. It’s far more than a sweet passage to hear at a wedding, and ultimately helps us to understand our call to love, which God puts in our hearts.

Important Information Regarding the New

Database and On-Line Giving Platform

At the last Congregational Forum, we announced the Board of Director's decision to move to a new membership database and giving platform. The decision to move was based on several reasons.

  • The first is to save money! Pushpay has a lower rate for fees on electronic giving.
  • Also, our current two systems do not communicate thus making it difficult for end of year giving statements.
  • Finally, the new database (Community Church Builder) is LGBTQ+ friendly. Our current system automatically assigns opposite gender to married couplers and does not allow for same-sex relationships. Several MCC Churches use this system and highly recommend switching.

On August 31, 2022 we will disable Easy Tithe and need everyone to transfer to the new system. Below is a link to create your account in PushPay electronic giving system. Just like our current system, you can setup recurring giving so you don't have to remember every time you want to give.

On Sunday, July 31st and August 14th, the Board of Directors will be available after worship to assist you in setting up you your new account.

To ensure you are not giving twice, please make sure you disable your EasyTithe recurring giving as soon as your new account has been created.

Please feel free to email Kim at info@suncoastmcc.com or call her if you have any questions or need assistance.
