June 12, 19 and 26:

Pentecost and Pride:

Truth, Trust and Transformation

This month, we will be focusing on SunCoast MCC’s core mission statement – that we are a community that teaches and practices Truth, Trust and Transformation.

What do these core concepts have to do with our current challenges and realities?

How can we deepen our commitment to being a community that practices what we preach, that seeks to model a healthy, spiritual connection with God and each other?

In addition, this month, we will honor those who died in the Pulse Massacre, we will make a special presentation to ALSO for Out Youth, who serve the young in our community.

We will celebrate and remember our fathers, and we will learn about Juneteeth and its importance to our whole community.

Don’t miss one single Sunday this month!

In-Person or Virtual Worship

This Sunday, in celebration of Pentecost and Pride, we begin a 3 part series on our core spiritual mission – to foster truth, trust and transformation in our ourselves, our church and our community.

We begin with the Gospel of John, Chapters 15 and 16, in which Jesus talks about the Advocate, the Holy Spirit, as the Spirit of Truth. Truth is core to the nature of God and right relationship – the truth cleanses us, heals us, and makes love and justice possible.

Many of us have survived the harm from spiritual un-truths told about us, our worth, and about who God can love. Let’s ground ourselves in the truth in this season of the Spirit!

Celebrating PRIDE Month

When the Progress Pride Flag was released, it immediately went viral. People hailed it both for being inclusive and for clearly showing that we have made progress and that we have more strides to make.

Though the Progress Pride Flag has not completely replaced the old six-color rainbow flag, it has taken over in many spaces. Where the rainbow flag gives a message of supporting LGBTQIA+ people, the Progress Pride Flag offers the message of supporting all of them.

The new flag pays homage to the people who founded the movement while simultaneously drawing attention to how People of Color (POC) and trans people remain underserved and discriminated against compared to White, cis queer people.

Supporting Our Youth

Give OUT Day

An Opportunity to

Support ALSO Youth

Give OUT Day is a month-long fundraising campaign culminating on June 30, the only national day of giving for the LGBTQ+ community. Last year Give OUT Day raised over $1.9 million for LGBTQ+ nonprofits! Give OUT Day is hosted by Horizons Foundation, the world's first LGBTQ+ community foundation.

Give OUT Day 2022 takes place during Pride Month. While Give OUT Day itself is Thursday, June 30, donors can give any time starting June 1. Donations throughout all of Pride Month count toward the prizes for nonprofits!

Why Support ALSO Youth During Pride Month?

ALSO Youth needs your support now more than ever. In recent months, there have been countless attempts to disenfranchise our youth and the LGBTQ+ population in Florida at large.

The services we offer are designed to promote affirming and engaging experiences for ages 10-24 in Sarasota and Manatee Counties. With your support, we can continue offering monthly programming, free counseling, various support groups, and so much more.

To learn more about ALSO Youth and the services offered, visit our website here.  You can donate using the following link:  Give OUT LInk

Landscaping Team Needs Our Help
