"But when they saw Jesus walking on the lake, they thought he was a ghost. They cried out, because they all saw him and were terrified. Immediately Jesus spoke to them and said, “Take courage! It is I. Don’t be afraid.” Then he climbed into the boat with them, and the wind died down. They were completely amazed." ~Mark 6:49-51

Becoming a New Creation:
Healing Old Wounds
When we tend to our relationship with God, we connect with the power of new life and healing.
Sometimes there are wounds that have remained with us over the years and we continue to “bleed” even though we think ignoring them will make them go away.
Jesus says to the woman in our scripture story for this week that her faith has healed her.
Are we willing to move confidently toward Jesus, knowing his very presence in our lives can end the pain that we’ve carried around for a long time?
Scripture: Mark 5:24-34

Happy Anniversary to
Dr. David Katz
|
A year ago, we had the opportunity to hire Dr. David Katz as our Director of Music. He started with us during a pandemic when we didn't have a clear plan or vision for what would happen next.
He jumped in and went right to work. Dr. Katz played through freezing temperatures, small wind storms and had to compete with the sounds of nature. We have been blessed by his talents and creativity. We look forward to many more years!

Supporting our Youth and Community
|
|
ALSO Youth (Advocacy, Leadership, Support, Outreach) provides resources and programs for LGBTQ+ Youth to have a safe space so they may be who they truly are every day. During the past several months, these youth are finding more challenging obstacles as they maneuver through daily events. ALSO continues to reach out through Zoom sessions and phone calls as they support school networking for these youth. Our centers are now open again as the staff continues to work to provide online activities, resources, book clubs, and services for all the youth.
We need funds to support the book clubs, online programs, and summer online sessions, as well as continue to provide Zoom for the center. Please donate and let's GIVE YOUTH A CHANCE.

Our Safety Protocols For Worship
|
|
Although many of us are fully vaccinated, we can't be sure that all of our members and guests are, so we ask for your cooperation to keep each other safe.
We fully expect that as conditions change, we will be revising our protocols.
- Please use the marked doors for entering and exiting the building.
- Please wear a mask inside the Church building. You may remove it once you are outside.
- Once you are in the sanctuary, please remain in your seat. If you need to use the restroom, please exit safely while maintaining social distancing.
- Please, no congregating or socializing in the lobby, offices, restrooms, and recording areas and avoid close contact with others.
-
We will continue to social distance, wave to each other, blow kisses, but no shaking hands or hugging inside the Church building.
- No singing until it is safer to do so.
- A card was placed on chairs between registered guests/groups to maintain social distancing. Please do not remove the cards.
- If you need any assistance, please raise your hand for a member of our emerge team to help you.
- Please stay home and enjoy the service online or on YouTube if you are sick or feel symptoms of Covid.
