Becoming a New Creation:
Expanding Kinship
Today we will explore Jesus’ definition of family, in Mark’s Gospel, chapter 3: 20-35, in the midst of his own family crisis!
In many ways, Jesus is very contemporary in how he understands “family,” kindred and relationships. It is not so much about blood, or DNA, as it is about behavior and connectedness. . .
Many of us have what we call “chosen family,” in addition to, or in place of birth family. Like Jesus, we know that “family” can be a complicated and loaded concept, but also a precious one. . .
Is the church a family? Is that always a good thing? Can the church, our faith, encourage us to widen and diversify our kinship circles? Let’s find out. . .

Pride Month is celebrated every June as a tribute to those who were involved in the Stonewall Riots. We’re getting ready to dust off our rainbow flags and go join in the fun. With parades, festivals, and concerts going on across the our area, there’s always some way for you to get involved — as well as learn some important social history along the way.

Emerge Ministry
We have formed a new Ministry of volunteers to help with our indoor reopen efforts because we recognize that we cannot reopen today in the same way we did before the pandemic.
EMERGE has two primary assignments:
❤ Help to reopen the Sanctuary for worship safely by implementing the social distancing protocols defined by the Reopen team.
❤ Welcome our guests, take attendance and seat our guests at Service.
If you are interested in volunteering and can assist on Sundays as a greeter or as an usher please contact:

Next time you are at the store, consider picking up hand sanitizer, hand soap and disinfecting spray for the Church.
We need these items to ensure we keep everyone safe as we move back inside!
Thank you for your help!

CHAPS needs our help!
Please consider picking up items during your next trip to the store and bringing the items to church on Sunday.
They need regular size items, not travel size.

Our Safety Protocols For Worship
|
|
Although many of us are fully vaccinated, we can't be sure that all of our members and guests are, so we ask for your cooperation to keep each other safe.
We fully expect that as conditions change, we will be revising our protocols.
- Please use the marked doors for entering and exiting the building.
- Please wear a mask inside the Church building. You may remove it once you are outside.
- Once you are in the sanctuary, please remain in your seat. If you need to use the restroom, please exit safely while maintaining social distancing.
- Please, no congregating or socializing in the lobby, offices, restrooms, and recording areas and avoid close contact with others.
-
We will continue to social distance, wave to each other, blow kisses, but no shaking hands or hugging inside the Church building.
- A card was placed on chairs between registered guests/groups to maintain social distancing. Please do not remove the cards.
- If you need any assistance, please raise your hand for a member of our emerge team to help you.
- Please stay home and enjoy the service online or on YouTube if you are sick or feel symptoms of Covid.
