Ritual Action for the Fourth Week of Lent
During these weeks of Lent, we have been using sea glass symbolic of change that we can make in our lives.
The glass is discarded as junk into the ocean. With time, the churning of the waters and the sand creates a new beauty in the glass that was discarded.
As the sea glass changes so can we make changes. We can face the storms of life led by the Healer,
the One who Calms the Storm in the midst of fear.
As a reminder of change we can make in our lives, we are going to restore some beauty to our sea glass pieces.
You can create a pendant that can be hung in a window or as a necklace, a constant reminder of our role as those who must “take care,”
must care for and contribute to,
rather than diminish, the beauty of this earth.
Use the LINK below to watch Bill demonstrate how easy it is to make the sea glass into a pendant by wrapping thin craft wire around a piece of sea glass.
Make a pendant for yourself and wear it to Sunday Service

Holy Vessels: Restoration
(Environmental Health)
|
In our worship this Sunday, we will re-affirm that we have the “power to turn things around, to calm the storm.” That storm today is climate change and all that goes along with it.
Our Gospel lesson features Jesus using references to nature and calming a violent storm on the Sea of Galilee.
Can humanity chart a different course in the days and years to come? Can we align with Jesus, and have faith that together we can restore the gift of Creation?
As we worship in the beautiful outdoor setting at our church or watch it online, this message is driven home even more for us, SunCoast MCC!
Matthew 8: 18-27
|
Register in advance so we are able to properly plan for a safe and socially distanced Service.
|
|
Inclement Weather: If the outdoor Worship Service is canceled, we will Live Stream it. Join us at 10AM for a live Service. If you have difficulty with the Live Stream, the recorded Service will be available on the website and YouTube after 4PM on Sunday.

I look forward to contributing to your incredibly important work in any way I can.

The Gospel of Mark:
A Spiritual Practice for Lent
|
As we prepare for Holy Week this year, we are going to have a special opportunity to read the entire Gospel of Mark together, on the Saturday before Palm Sunday.
We will gather outdoors, in the sanctuary area. There will be a podium with a large print version of the Gospel of Mark, and those in attendance can either just listen, or participate by taking turns, safely, reading pre-marked passages.
Our sole purpose will be to hear the story of Jesus – the shortest and easiest to read version -- in one sitting. There is something powerful about just hearing the whole story, with all the drama, excitement and passion.
Join us for this simple, deeply spiritual experience. You do not need to bring a Bible, or anything. Just come, read and listen.

Reflection and Study: The Mystery Man at the Passover Meal
To make preparations for the Passover meal, Jesus told the disciples to find a man with a water jar. Who was this mystery man, and why was he transgressing traditional gender roles?
Together we will read the story of Jesus' last night with the disciples, reflect on his words and actions, and ponder the identity of this mystery man.
