Fourth Sunday in Lent
Good Enough: "God's Reward System"
From early on in life, we are taught to climb the ladder of success. We are taught to strive for perfection. We are led to believe that we must attain a certain “status” to prove who we are and that we are good, accepted and loved.
What about God? What does God say about us? Should we strive to climb the ladder of success so that God will accept us, so that God will be proud of us, so that God will love us?
Join us this Sunday as we explore God’s reward system and what is expected from us to meet God’s approval.
|
|
|
If you are joining us on-line, download the Virtual Bulletin using the link below and participate in worship with us.
We also ask that you tell us in our live Chat during worship if you have any prayer requests or needs. Your feedback is very important as we strive to ensure your virtual worship experience is meaningful and filled with the love of God.

Could you take the time to help a local High School Student with her Research paper?
|
|
"My name is Abigail Clissold, and I am an AP (Advance Placement) Research student. I have been an active member of my church and local LGBTQ+ circles for several years now, leading up to my AP Research topic.
There's this idea, especially within queer spaces, that every LGBTQ+ person who is or was religious started out believing their identity was against their religion. Even academic research on LGBTQ+ religious people is mostly on "resolving conflict" between the two identities, and there has not been a focused study on what causes this conflict.
I am surveying LGBTQ+ people to see if there is a connection between acceptance within religious environments and religious-LGBTQ+ identity conflict. I plan to submit my paper to an academic journal after my class ends."
My study will be an anonymous survey.
- Abigail C.

Virtual Lenten Bible Study
"Witness to the Cross"
Join Rev. Nancy as she helps us see the events of Good Friday from the eyes of those who were present. The virtual study will occur on three nights and is based on the book by Amy-Jill Levine, titled Witness at the Cross.
During the final class, Rev. Nancy will explore Joseph of Arimathea and Nicodemus: Who were these men? Why do they matter? How were these members of the “establishment” also allies of Jesus and his followers? What can we learn from their inclusion in the story?
AND
God and Nature: Levine also explores how symbols of earthquakes; darkness play a role as “witnesses” at the cross. What does the Bible tell us about the role of natural phenomenon, and what can we learn from their inclusion in the story?
The class will be held at 7 PM on March 31 via Zoom.

Thank you all who have donated to the 2022 Easter Offering.
This is a year in which we will persevere in our challenging and hurting world. We will serve God together; we will be a community of grace.
It is a year for pressing on, for being exactly who we are for so many who still need to know that there is a place, a people, and a purpose for them.
This year we committed as a congregation to raise $18,000 for our General Fund to help us thrive in 2022.
