Celebrating the Work and Service of our Deacons
|
Please join us this Sunday as we honor and celebrate the work of our Deacons. Charlene Bisordi, David Flynn and David Waldron have served SunCoast MCC faithfully for many years and we want to thank them for dedication to the work of God and our Church.
We encourage everyone to bring each of the Deacons a card or note on Sunday sharing a memory or a simple Thank You for your service.

Help us decorate the Altar on Easter Sunday

We are inviting you to participate in our Easter Sunday celebration by bringing an Easter plant to add to the beauty of the Greatest of All Feasts - the Resurrection of Christ.
Bring your plant with you on Easter Sunday. You will be able to take your plant home after the Easter Service.

Holy Vessels: Holy, Wholly (Integrated Health)

Those who shouted “Hosanna!” and waved branches as Jesus entered Jerusalem were celebrating and anticipating a new future. They had witnessed Jesus’ healing ministry, heard his stories of transformation, and saw his life filled with compassionate power.
Like beach glass that creates a beautiful artistic mosaic, Jesus created a community that came from the brokenness around him. The community of parade attenders witnessed, yet, another sign.
Jesus entered Jerusalem in humility, forgiveness and peace, signaling that this is the way forward for our individual and community wholeness.

Thank you for your continued support and generosity, especially in light of these challenging times. Based on our monthly mortgage and expenses, we need $4,800 each week. The total offering received for the weeks ending March14th and March 21st was $4,399 for the General Fund and $1,225 for Pillars.
Together, let’s keep our General Fund and Pillars accounts liquid.
*Funds the church's operating expenses (i.e., utilities, salaries, maintenance of property, worship/multi-media expenses, bank fees, internet, copier, office supplies, tithe, etc.)
**Funds the church's mortgage, insurance & taxes.

Update on the Easter Offering
GREAT NEWS! We are so excited that we met our $5,000 match in the last 10 days, and we have now received a total of $18,855!
In order to meet our goal for the General Fund, and to re-do the floors in the sanctuary and on the chancel, we need a total of about $25,000. We are only $6,145 away as of this moment!
Our estimate is a little higher because we are also using this opportunity to rewire and move the sound booth to the back of the sanctuary, so that we will have more seating and unobstructed space. This project will make our sanctuary space more expansive for worship and other events.
Thanks for your generosity as we make these improvements in anticipation of worshiping indoors in our sanctuary sometime later this year!!!

The Gospel of Mark:
A Spiritual Practice for Lent
|
As we prepare for Holy Week this year, we are going to have a special opportunity to read the entire Gospel of Mark together, on the Saturday before Palm Sunday.
We will gather outdoors, in the sanctuary area. There will be a podium with a large print version of the Gospel of Mark, and those in attendance can either just listen, or participate by taking turns, safely, reading pre-marked passages.
Our sole purpose will be to hear the story of Jesus – the shortest and easiest to read version -- in one sitting. There is something powerful about just hearing the whole story, with all the drama, excitement and passion.
Join us for this simple, deeply spiritual experience. You do not need to bring a Bible, or anything. Just come, read and listen.

Reflection and Study: The Mystery Man at the Passover Meal
To make preparations for the Passover meal, Jesus told the disciples to find a man with a water jar. Who was this mystery man, and why was he transgressing traditional gender roles?
Together we will read the story of Jesus' last night with the disciples, reflect on his words and actions, and ponder the identity of this mystery man.
