Palm Sunday

THE FINAL WEEK

This Sunday we hear the stories of Jesus’ visit with Zaccheus, and the March into Jerusalem on Palm Sunday.

The unfolding drama continues, as opposition to Jesus’ love and advocacy for the poor, the outcast, outsider and outlaw puts him at odds with the powers that be. Just like it often does with some of Jesus’ followers today.

Worship with us as we welcome Troy Messner on the French Horn, and hear one of our all time favorites, “The Palms.”

MAUNDY THURSDAY – A THURSDAY OF

SUPREME LOVE

April 6, 2023

Maundy Thursday is the Thursday before Easter, believed to be the day when Jesus celebrated his final Passover with His disciples. The Passover meal was when Jesus washed the feet of His disciples in an extraordinary display of humility. He then commanded them to do the same for each other. It is also the night when Judas arranged to betray Jesus.

As you may be busy preparing for Easter, we invite you to take time out to rest and reflect on the events of the next few days which Christian Churches commemorate.

Our Church will be open on Thursday from 11 AM to 3 PM for you to come in to rest, to pray, to reflect. There will be “stations” for you to visit which represent the Gospel messages during Lent: Jesus and the Outsiders, Outcasts, and Outlaws.

GOOD FRIDAY – WHEN JESUS GAVE HIS LIFE FOR THE SALVATION OF HUMANITY

April 7, 2023

We learn in scripture that "God was in Christ reconciling the world to God's self." In Jesus' death on a cross, we experience God's ultimate sacrifice of love and grace, all for our redemption and the redemption of the world." Good Friday is not the last word, but the gateway to a glorious Easter. Join us for a memorable, reverent service.

The Service will reflect the Stations of the Cross with a different message from the traditional Stations of the Cross. Join us on Friday at 7 PM (In person only).

Update from Your Pastoral

& Congregational Care Team

"God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in our distress.

Therefore, we will fear nothing,

even if the earth gives way

and the mountains fall into the

heart of the sea,

even if the waters roar and foam

and the mountains tumble

with their surging.

God is our refuge and strength."

~Psalm 46:1-3

Social Hall Renovation Project

Progress continues! The electrical wiring has been

re-routed and enclosed and the drywall is all repaired or replaced. The Social Hall space is taking shape with new paint. You can now tell where our new closet storage area is and where the new Social Hall entrance doorway will be. The double door unit itself is expected to arrive in mid-April -- Go Home Depot!

Flooring is about to get underway in a big way working it’s way down the hallway and into each room - around and under some of the furnishings or fixtures.

Stay tuned!
