 “EMERGE: The Impossible Dream”

Matthew 19: 13-26

Do you remember the song, “The Impossible Dream” from Man of LaMancha?”

That song was a very early favorite of MCC – it expressed the power and wonder of a dream of justice, truth and love. In those early days, so much seemed impossible. And yet, we have seen miracles unfold, like the wings of a butterfly.

This Sunday we will be talking about following a Jesus who loved and paid attention to children, who told us that nothing is impossible with God, that all that divides us can be healed. We have been witnesses to that truth. Children in our state, country and world today are in need of dreams and hope. Let us, like Jesus, pay attention!

In the words of Rep. John Lewis,

"Do not get lost in a sea of despair. Be hopeful, be optimistic. Our struggle is not the struggle of a day, a week, a month, or a year, it is the struggle of a lifetime. Never, ever be afraid to make some noise and get in good trouble, necessary trouble." ~ Rep. John Lewis

"I am writing on behalf of our Staff, the Board of Directors and The congregation of King of Peace MCC.  We want to express our thanks to you all for such a beautiful plant to welcome us into our new worship space.  This year has been a challenging time of transition for KOP and receiving your thoughtful gesture was truly a blessing.

...will be able to plant the bromelia and watch it grow and be reminded of your support and care for our church."

Rev. Renae Phillips
