Order of Worship and Lyrics for Worship November, 13, 2022

Rev. Rick Rhen-Sosbe/Rev. Dr. Nancy Wilson

Join us this

Sunday, November 13, 2022

at 10 AM for

In-Person or Virtual Worship

This Sunday, our last in the series, “Give Thanks,” we are being thankful for the gift of recovery. Paul says in his letter to the Philippians, “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me!” That is our mantra during these challenging times, that provide so many opportunities for growth and service.

This Sunday, we will examine “The Serenity Prayer,” a central prayer of recovery spirituality. Why is this prayer so precious to those who are struggling with addiction? And how does it instruct, inspire, and provide a pathway for us to manage the storms (literal and symbolic) in our lives?

THE ARTS AS SPIRITUAL PRACTICE – INSPIRATION THROUGH MANIFESTATION

You are invited to participate and take away what may benefit you in a conversation with artist Terrence Joyce as he shares the creative process of transposing the message of a profound mystical Inspiration into artistic form.

The artist discloses the guiding principles and practices gifted to him for this aspiration by many generous seekers encountered within the spiritual and artistic communities his journey has led him through.

From wisdoms learned in a monastic Catholic seminary thru the turbulent and transformative Bohemian community of Greenwich Village and SOHO in the 1960’s and 1970’s, to the close friendship with an Indian saint and his disciples at their United Nations Peace Meditation mission the practices disclosed are both practical as well as secret and sacred.

Use the link below to register to golf or call the church office.  For all the non-golfers, you can use the link to register for the lunch only and come enjoy a time of fellowship, fun and food.

Update from Your Pastoral

& Congregational Care Team

God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in our distress.

Therefore, we will fear nothing, even if the earth gives way

and the mountains fall into the heart of the sea,

even if the waters roar and foam

and the mountains tumble with their surging.

God is our refuge and strength.

Psalm 46:1-3

We ask everyone to join us in prayer for:

All those impacted by Hurricane Ian

All the first responders, electrical companies and those assisting the community
