“Being a New Wineskin”

Matthew 9:14-17

Jesus often used relevant life practices and illustrations to make a spiritual point. He challenged his listeners to think radically different at times when it came to their spiritual practices. He was especially challenging to the religious people of his day.

In our scripture lesson for this Sunday Jesus uses the illustration of sewing an unshrunk patch of cloth on an old garment and pouring new wine into old wineskins. What does all of that mean? What point was Jesus making to the people of his day that can be applied to our lives in our modern day? Join us this Sunday as we explore answers to these questions and more!

Update from Your Pastoral

& Congregational Care Team

God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in our distress.

Therefore, we will fear nothing, even if the earth gives way

and the mountains fall into the heart of the sea,

even if the waters roar and foam

and the mountains tumble with their surging.

God is our refuge and strength.

Psalm 46:1-3

We ask everyone to join us in prayer for:

All those impacted by Hurricane Ian

All the first responders, electrical companies and those assisting the community
