Worship Series

September 2022

Our Worship Theme for September, in honor of our annual Homecoming celebration, is “Come Home to Faith!”

We will explore the passage from Hebrew 11 that proclaims that we are not there yet, but we are still “Seeking a Homeland,” as Rev. Nancy preaches on September 11.

On September 18, Rev. Rick preaches as we begin our celebration of Hispanic Heritage Month, and aspire to be a spiritual home for everyone, para todos!

And, on September 25, Homecoming Sunday, as we celebrate Rev. Nancy’s 50th Anniversary in ministry, our special guest State Rep. Michele Rayner-Goolsby will preach on Rev. Nancy’s favorite homecoming story, the Prodigal Son. Marsha Pino-Stevens will also share her gifts in song.

“Seeking a Homeland!”

What does it mean to “come home?” What does the word “home” bring up for you? The home of your childhood, your home now? A real place, an ideal?

As we celebrate Homecoming this September, we listen to what the author of Hebrews believed about people of faith: that we are always seeking our spiritual homeland. We are never completely at home in this world, but we are seeking a homeland we have not ever seen or visited – what Jesus called the “kingdom of God,” which is here and now, and yet to come.

SunCoast MCC, how does this shape who we are, and what impact we have in our community?

"Nancy Wilson's Ministry Jubilee:
50 years of service and not done yet!"

MCC is partnering with Rev. Elder Dr. Nancy Wilson to celebrate her incredible 50 years of ministry in MCC, and she is NOT DONE YET! Nancy continues to be passionate both about local church ministry and MCC’s worldwide mission. To mark this ministry milestone, we are working together to raise at least US$50,000, which will be shared between SunCoast MCC where Nancy is Senior Pastor, and global MCC. The denomination will use the funds to support translation, so that MCC can reach even more people around the world.

In lieu of gifts, donations in honor of Rev. Nancy's work may be made using the link below, visiting SunCoast MCC's website or mailing a check to SunCoast MCC (50/50 in the memo).

Prior to the pandemic, the Church was gifted an AED (Automatic External Defibrillator). An AED, is used to help those experiencing sudden cardiac arrest. It's a sophisticated, yet easy-to-use, medical device that can analyze the heart's rhythm and, if necessary, deliver an electrical shock, or defibrillation, to help the heart re-establish an effective rhythm.

We are looking for 4 volunteers to take an on-line training course on how to use the AED. This is not a CPR course. If you are interested, please email Kim at Info@suncoastmcc.com by September 9th.
