SunCoast MCC family and friends,

You are invited to an outdoor drumming event at SunCoast MCC. We are hosting this event on Tuesday, June 30 at 7PM to 8:30PM*. It will be held on the Church grounds by the large oak tree beyond the memorial. This is an opportunity for us to see you and for you to meet David Katz our Music Director who recently joined SunCoast MCC's staff.

(* Note: If the event has be cancelled because of rain,
the event will be rescheduled for Thursday, July 2 from 7PM to 8:30PM).
Come and Meet Dr. David Katz at the Drumming Circle!!
Dear Beloved Community,

My name is Dr. David Katz and I have the wonderful honor to be your new music director at Suncoast MCC. I have already been made to feel so welcome at Suncoast MCC. If I haven’t yet met you, I am eagerly looking forward to doing that.

With that in mind, I want to invite you to attend our very first community drum circle on Tuesday, June 30 at 7:00PM. 

We will be safely socially distanced but not distanced by our love for coming together in joy and fellowship. No experience is necessary and there is room for all in the circle.

Please bring a lawn chair (type with the firm bottom rather than sinking/sling seat is better), bug spray, suntan lotion, water and your drum if you have it.

If you are interested in attending the drumming circle, please email your name, your cell phone number and whether you need a drum or if you will be bringing your own at drdavidkatz@suncoastmcc.com . 

This will allow me to have enough drums on hand for everybody and also send out a message to all via text and email in case we would need to cancel the drumming circle due to inclement weather.

At this time, SunCoast MCC remains closed to the public. During this event, the Church will be closed except for limited use of the restrooms. To ensure the safety of everyone, we continue to monitor the COVID-19 situation and will continue to revise these guidelines over time. If you are attending the Drumming Circle event, we ask that you follow these guidelines:
Social Distancing Guidelines for the Drumming Event
  • Wear a mask that covers the mouth and nose.

  • Maintain 6 feet social distancing (about 2 arm's length) at all times.

  • Follow any signage posted on the Church grounds and any additional instructions provided by the volunteers.

  • Stay home, if you are not feeling well or are sick. We hope you feel better real soon.

  • No hugging, shaking hands or touching each other to ensure everyone's safety.
Reminders to Ensure Your Comfort at the Event!
  • Bring your lawn chair (preferably one with a hard bottom) as no chairs will be setup.

  • Bring bug spray, suntan lotion, water, hat and umbrella to stay hydrated and comfortable.

  • Wear comfortable shoes, preferably no sandals.
What Can You Expect at the Event?
Before Arriving

  • Let us know if you are coming and/or if you want to participate in the drumming. Contact Dr. David Katz.

  • Read the social distancing guidelines and if you have any questions or concerns, contact the Reopen team ahead of time.
During the Event

  • Wear a mask (mandatory) and maintain 6 feet social distance.

  • Follow any instructions and guidance by the volunteers including where to park, where to sit for the event and how to exit safely.

  • Enjoy the joyful sounds and the sunset.
Leaving

  • Wear a mask and maintain 6 feet distancing until you pull out of the parking lot.
