“But ask the animals, and they will teach you, or the birds in the sky and they will tell you; or speak to the earth, and it will teach you, or let the fish in the sea inform you. Which of all these does not know that the hand of the LORD has done this? In God's hand is the life of every creature and the breath of all humankind." -Job 12:7-10

'Drawn In: Living a Creative Life with God"
Week 4: Listening
|
We extend a warm welcome to our SunCoast MCC family and friends.
In our “Drawn In” series we have explored dreaming, hovering and risking as we are drawn in to serve as God’s creative beings.
This week we learn how “listening” as part of creativity is about perceiving. We open our senses to see what is emerging, and when we hear or receive a message we did not expect, we may see it as a negative.
But what if those moments are simply Co-Creator God inviting us to discern new ways of moving forward in our lives?
Scripture: Acts 16:6-15

Rev. Dr. Nancy Wilson recently participated in a meeting with the Faith Director for President Biden's transition team. She was asked to provide insight and information on the LGBTQ community and what is needed to support faith within the family of God's people. Keep her and the entire transition team in your prayers as we work to heal our nation.

Volunteers Needed:
Looking for ways to get involved at SunCoast MCC in a socially distanced way? We need you. As we continue to sponsor more in-person events, we are looking for people to help in many ways.
We have many opportunities and assignments, including:
-
Worship: Serving as a reader (e.g., announcements and scripture, etc.).
-
Recording: Working with the sound and camera team.
-
Outward Bound: Ensuring everyone is safe during in-person events (e.g., welcoming, usher, logistics, set-up, etc).
-
Ad-Hoc Events: Planning upcoming social events.
No experience is needed. We are looking for those willing to learn and feel a calling to help provide a meaningful worship experience for our members and visitors.
Email the church office or call to learn more about how you can become involved.

Looking for something to do during this pandemic? What about a scavenger hunt for lost coins? Maybe challenge a friend to see who can fill the jar first! If you have a full jar, bring it by the church. If you need a jar, you can stop by the church office or pick one up on Sunday after Worship.

Did you or someone in your family get a new computer for Christmas? Do you have an old computer just collecting dust?
If so, here is a chance to pay it forward with your old computers and help local Foster Children.
With COVID and so many families having to use distant learning options for schooling, not having enough computers is creating an education divide and some children are falling behind.
Please contact Emily Adams at:
(828) 450-0216 to arrange for pick up of your working or non-working used laptop.

Murder Mystery Night
Monday, Jan. 25 at 6PM
Come join us for lots of fun solving a "who done it" in the Little Rock Shop of Horrors... please email here if you're interested in joining so your part may be sent in advance. It is okay if you can join us for this last night - it's campy, filled with double entendres and we will vote for bragging rights "Oscars" for our fabulous performers, as well as get to the bottom of this mystery.
What happened to Jacqueline Hyde? Where is her body? Who is responsible? And will the new B-movie, ’Little Rock Horror Shop’, ever be made?
