Pastoral and Congregational Update
Do you have a Prayer Request? SunCoast MCC continues to find ways to stay connected with you through regular phone check-ins, drive-by gatherings, Zoom programs, bible studies and prayer surges. All to support you.

Your need for comforting and lifting prayers are important to us. Each month, with your permission, we will list your prayer requests in Staying Connected as a way to enlist the congregation to join in prayer. However, if you prefer, we can pray with you in private. Please send us your prayer requests at any time.
Join us in Virtual Prayers for the following and their loved ones.
  • MCC and our moderator who are leading our denomination during a challenging time.
  • Our Pastors and their families.
  • Our volunteers who continue to take care of our church in so many ways.
  • SunCoast MCC family and friends who are ill and/or are recovering from illness.
  • Essential workers who are taking care of our communities.
Carla Petersen Retires from SunCoast MCC's Office Manager Position

At our Homecoming Gathering, on Friday, September 25, at 6:30 PM, we will thank and honor Carla Petersen for her service as our Office Manager for the last few years.

Please come out that evening to thank her in person – we will also acknowledge her at our Homecoming service as well.

Carla has been a loyal, faithful servant, and a constant during many changes at SunCoast. Please continue to keep her, and her wife Sharon Van Butsel in your prayers. Sharon is in hospice care as of the last several weeks. Carla and Sharon together have been key volunteers and members since 2013.

NEW: SUNCOAST MCC DIRECTORY

We are publishing a “SunCoast MCC Directory” as another way to help us stay connected to each other. This is especially important during this time.

Here are a couple of protocols we will be following. The Directory will be published for the private use of SunCoast MCC. Under NO circumstances should this information be shared with anyone other than SunCoast MCC members and only used for socializing and Church related activities. The Directory will be emailed to you and posted in our “members only” section of SunCoast MCC’s website and updated periodically. Finally, you can opt-in or opt-out at any time.

Complete a brief Form to let us know if you want to participate. Click Here
Stay tuned for more information about the publication release date in the coming weeks.

HAPPY HOUR SCAVENGER HUNT

Saturday, October 10 at 6PM

Join what promises to be a fun event where we search our homes and earn "points towards prizes" for being the fastest to find items inside our homes. Everyone who joins the Zoom event chooses an item in their home and participants seek it in their own home. The person with the most points will win a dinner gift card!

We had a wonderful time Saturday night in our first "in our homes" scavenger hunt! Lady bugs, flashlights, matches, garden clippers, orange candles, etched glass....these were just a few of the items we sought in our homes as we enjoyed fun times virtually.

Congratulations to Janine and Tonie who won a donated $50 restaurant gift card.

UPCOMING DRUM CIRCLE

Wednesday, October 21 at 6PM in-person on the church grounds

Is drumming more your thing? We have two upcoming IN-PERSON opportunities to participate in a drumming circle. We will gather outside on the church grounds. We will be safely distanced for social interaction, but not distanced by our love for coming together in joy and fellowship.

No experience is necessary and there is room for all in the circle. Please bring a lawn chair (type with a firm bottom rather than a sinking/sling seat is better), bug spray, sunscreen, water and a drum if you have it.

If you are interested, please email your name and whether you need a drum or if you will be bringing your own to Dr. David Katz. Click here to email Dr. KatzThis will allow him to communicate with you if inclement weather requires a cancelation.
