"GET YOUR JOY ON!"
Third Sunday in Advent
Join us as Rev. Nancy Wilson
continues the series
"Angels Among Us"
|
On this Sunday we explore Matthew’s version of the Nativity, through the eyes of Joseph.
Matthew’s version is more brooding than Luke’s shepherds and manger scene, but, nevertheless, there is deep joy that bubbles up from the story. Yes, angels abound, all around, in this season! COME to church outside-in-person, or virtually this Sunday, and GET YOUR JOY ON!!!!
Scripture Reading: Matthew 1: 18-25

Loving Note from the Pastors
|
|
|
It was wonderful seeing so many of you during our first in-person service made possible by social distancing. It is so challenging for our wonderful congregation to avoid warm hugs and socializing and we are so proud of everyone’s efforts to follow safety guidelines.
Our message was heartfelt and the music was very moving. We thank Rev. Renae and Lisa for the special song. We also recognized two very important people in our church for their service and hold them in our prayers as they move onward in the the next chapters of their lives. Thank you, Mary and Nikki!
Thank you to everyone who made the day so special. You can view the service on our website.

It's Not too Late to Participate in the Annual Christmas Offering
|
Our Fireplace is beginning to look a lot like Christmas thanks to the generosity of many!
It is not too late to add your name to the fireplace. Help us decorate the SunCoast MCC Holiday Fireplace while supporting the mission of the church in our community and throughout the world.
We ask you to consider giving a year-end gift to SunCoast MCC to get us on the best financial footing going into 2021.
-
Maybe you need to catch up on your giving to the church? This is a way to do it!
- Maybe you prefer to give once a year to the church? This is the time to do it!
This year, at SunCoast MCC, we will have both a “real” and a virtual fireplace on which to hang your Christmas stockings: A red Christmas stocking for you and/or a blue Christmas stocking in memory or in honor of a loved one. Your stocking(s) will be hung on display at the church and will be shared in our weekly virtual worship and on our Website.
Whatever you put in your stocking will be up to you. We are very appreciative of your gifts
On Sunday, Dec. 13 a basket will be placed next to the fireplace for you to drop off your Christmas donations after service and after the celebration
or you can donate using the link below.

Do Not Be Afraid:
Defeating Fear with Hope, Peace, Love, Joy and a
Wholehearted Life”
Tuesday, Dec. 15 & 22 at 7PM
The angel appearances in the Gospel Christmas stories have a consistent theme: “Do Not Be Afraid.” Through these four weeks of Advent, we will journey with Dr. Brené Brown, who is a social worker, researcher, and best-selling author. Dr. Brown’s work on vulnerability speaks to how we let fear–in many forms–affect our lives. Brené calls on us to live more fully into hope, peace, joy, and love through practicing vulnerability.
Classes will include scripture study, video presentations and discussion facilitated by Rev. Nancy, Rev. Vickie & Cindy D.
