Holy Spirit: Poured Out, Powerful
Sunday, May 31 at 10AM
This Sunday we celebrate Pentecost….50 days after Easter. Pentecost is considered the birthday of the Church. The story is told in the second chapter of Acts. During the Jewish Pentecost celebration when all were gathered in Jerusalem, ordinary people experienced a miraculous outpouring of the Spirit, enabling them to proclaim the love of God to all cultures and generations. The power of this message is ever-so important. We too have a powerful, present Spirit with us that is to be spread in the world today. Let us be a community of messengers with God’s love and compassion flowing from our hearts. Scriptures: Acts 2:1-21; John 20:19-22

Worship Series
June 14 – July 19, 2020
|
An early 6th century theologian described God as “beguiled by beauty.” The Creator was lured by a longing for beauty and so set in motion a world of immense diversity and goodness. In this worship series we will dwell with the God of Divine Goodness, deeply in love with us, and practice ways to return that love as we fall more deeply in love with creation and with one another.

DRIVE-BY BLESSING WITH YOUR PETS
Friday, June 5 from 4PM to 6PM
|
We are holding another Drive-By Blessing. Everyone is invited to come and drive through the church parking lot for a quick hello and a blessing from your pastors. You may bring your pet. It will also be a return blessing for Rev. Nancy and Rev. Vickie to see your smiling faces!
Supporting our Community
During the drive by, we will be collecting items for animal shelters and will also support the Suncoast Humane Society’s Pet Pantry in Englewood who provide free pet food to families who are financially stressed due to the pandemic. The rescues would be most grateful for:
- Puppy wet food
- Puppy pads
- Dog and cat dry food and canned food
- Milk Bones, small and medium, other soft treats as well
- Gently used dog/cat beds, collars, leashes, toys
- Cleaning supplies as well as towels, sheets, blankets
- Carrots and apples for the horses (for In-Stride Horse Therapy Program, Nokomls)
How to Make the Drop-Off Donation
After the Blessing, continue around the circle. You will see plastic bins labelled and lined-up on tables and on the ground. Drop your donations in the appropriate bins.
What You Can Expect
Board members will be there to assist with the traffic flow. Remember, please stay in your cars and wear your masks when approaching the blessing.
We are excited to see you. All are welcome.

A class based on Amy-Jill Levine’s book,
Short Stories by Jesus: the Enigmatic Parables of a Controversial Rabbi.
Have you ever wondered why Jesus used short stories – parables – to teach?
