Authenticity, Love, Anger, Fear, Grief, Joy – emotions that are all very human and all very Jesus. This series affirms the role of human emotions and that Jesus – fully human as well as divine – indeed had emotions too.
This Sunday, we will focus on the topic of Anger. This has been called the “gunpowder of the soul” – which can be used helpfully to blast away injustice or used harmfully, causing injury and destruction of innocent lives. Christianity’s relationship with anger has been all over the map in terms of how it works as part of our spiritual and emotional well-being. A look at the anger demonstrated by Jesus will help us redefine our relationship to this powerful emotion – a way to kindle the flame of justice rather than burn down the whole house.

Dear SunCoast family and friends,
Homecoming Y’All was a wonderful time together! Gatherings like this remind us how much we miss being in each other’s presence. Our hearts long for the day when we can worship together again in our sanctuary. Yet, these are decisions that weigh heavily and prayerfully in our hearts.
Please know that your Board of Directors continues to monitor scientific health reports, considers YOUR health and wellness and prays for God’s guidance. Likewise, your feedback in our recent congregational survey affirmed that meeting in person is not a wise decision at this time, despite Florida entering into phase 3 re-opening.

We ask you to continue to join us weekly for virtual worship services. We are also currently exploring more options for safe, outside gatherings including some worship services.
Likewise, please take advantage of the many SunCoast virtual gatherings. Over the last six months new social activities, Bible studies and friendships have blossomed in fun and creative ways.
|
|
Please know that we love and miss you! We pray for you and encourage you to please be safe, and do not hesitate to contact us if you need support or even to just say “hello.” |

Although due to the pandemic, we are unable to celebrate both of you in person, know we can still sing praises and acknowledge what you have meant to us, SunCoast MCC, since your arrival some 3 years ago. When we look back to where we have come since you both became a part of our church family, it is simply amazing. We sincerely Thank You for giving to the Lord and choosing Us to be where you decided to hang your clergy collar!

Thank you for your continued support and generosity. To minimally cover the Church expenses during this time, we need approximately $6,000 weekly. For week ending September 27, we collected $2,662.00 for General Fund* and $520.00 for Pillars.** Together let's keep our General Fund and Pillars accounts liquid.
*Funds the church's operating expenses (i.e., utilities, salaries, maintenance of property, worship/multi-media expenses, bank fees, internet, copier, office supplies, tithe, etc.)
**Funds the church's mortgage, insurance & taxes.

SunCoast MCC Office Hours and Interim Staffing |
Our current office hours are Tuesdays and Thursdays from 11AM to 3PM. Until we hire an Office/Communications Manager, Kathy Hanas our Board of Directors, Vice Moderator will serve in the interim role. You can still reach the office at the same phone number (941-484-7068) and email info@suncoastmcc.com. We will keep you posted on the progress of filling the position. Join us in thanking Kathy for volunteering as interim.

We will continue to host outdoor gatherings and virtual services. Based on your input, we are beginning to plan outdoor worship services, in the near future, while continuing virtual services.

Class is led by Rev. Vickie and Rev. Nancy
Explore Jesus in more depth as an engaged and emotional person who inspires us to live a more holy and wholly integrated life. The class is based on the book by Rev. Peter Wallace (book is not required).

Scavenger Hunt Happy Hour
Join what promises to be a fun event where we search our homes and earn "points" for being the fastest to find items inside your homes. Everyone who participates chooses an item in their home and participants seek it in their own home. We had a wonderful time last time where we had to find lady bugs, flashlights, matches, garden clippers, orange candles, etched glass....all done virtually.

Halloween Outdoor Movie Night – "Hocus Pocus"
Bring your popcorn and be ready to have a great time watching a favorite Walt Disney Movie – "Hocus Pocus" on a large size inflatable screen outdoors on the Church grounds. To ensure social distancing, registration is required. Congregational Meetings
We will be holding our annual meetings virtually this year. This is a time when SunCoast MCCers vote for positions on the Board of Directors and approve the 2021 Budget (at the Annual meeting).
Are you being called to serve on the SunCoast MCC Board of Directors?
At our next Annual Meeting, scheduled for Sunday, November 22, 2020, all active,
voting members will have an opportunity to vote for five Board members - three will
serve a two year term, and two will serve a one year term. We will be accepting
applications for these positions from October 2 through October 23. We invite interested individuals to pray about this potential call and complete an application. For more information click HERE
