Message from our Pastors
“Surely the Presence of our God is in this place!” – that is the song we will hear as we begin communion this Sunday, outdoors, on the beautiful grounds of our church.
Those who can be there in person, and those watching from home will be united as we experience God’s peaceful presence in our Advent celebration.
This Sunday we will hear the story of the Annunciation to Mary, and we will be invited to become “messengers of peace.” We need peace today, in our world, in our communities and in our homes – peace that includes justice. Let’s settle in this Sunday morning to embrace that peace and share it!

|
If outdoor service is cancelled due to inclement weather, the recorded service will be available on the website and YouTube 2PM Sunday.

Christmas songs and solos from Rev. Renae and Gene W.
Sermon Title: Angels Among Us: A Song of Peace
The angels in the Christmas story had a consistent message, “Do not be afraid.” We recall last week’s story when Zechariah freaked out when the other-worldly creature appeared to him. But Mary was simply “perplexed.” Why would such an incredible message come to a common girl just barely a woman? Then her reply to such a foretelling about her purpose in life was simple: “Let it be so,” and she sang a song that radiated with peace and trust. Are you yearning for more peace in your life and relationships? Peace in the world happens when all of us feel more peace within ourselves and live out that message each day.
Reading: Luke 1:26-56

Annual Christmas Offering
|
Help us decorate the SunCoast MCC Holiday Fireplace while supporting the mission of the church in our community and throughout the world.
We ask you to consider giving a year-end gift to SunCoast MCC to get us on the best financial footing going into 2021.
-
Maybe you need to catch up on your giving to the church? This is a way to do it!
- Maybe you prefer to give once a year to the church? This is the time to do it!
This year, at SunCoast MCC, we will have both a “real” and a virtual fireplace on which to hang your Christmas stockings: A red Christmas stocking for you and/or a blue Christmas stocking in memory or in honor of a loved one. Your stocking(s) will be hung on display at the church and will be shared in our weekly virtual worship and on our Website.
Whatever you put in your stocking will be up to you. We are very appreciative of your gifts.

Board of Directors Update
|
Message from the Board of Directors
Weekly Offering
Thank you for your continued support and generosity, especially in light of these challenging times. Based on our new monthly mortgage, we are updating the weekly expense needed to $4,800. For week ending November 29th, we collected $2962.00 for General Fund* and $250 for Pillars**. Together, let’s keep our General Fund and Pillars accounts liquid.
(*Funds the church's operating expenses (i.e., utilities, salaries, maintenance of property, worship/multi-media expenses, bank fees, internet, copier, office supplies, tithe, etc. **Funds the church's mortgage, insurance & taxes.)
|
We are pleased to report that we have completed our mortgage refinance process. It was a long process, made even longer due to the pandemic and unforeseen delays with the bank; however, the Board of Directors signed the mortgage refinance papers on Friday, November 13. We are especially grateful to those who contributed to the Capital Campaign – it is due to your faithfulness that our monthly mortgage commitment has been decreased by approximately 15%.

Do Not Be Afraid:
Defeating Fear with Hope, Peace, Love, Joy and a
Wholehearted Life”
Tuesdays
Dec. 1 and 22 at 7PM
The angel appearances in the Gospel Christmas stories have a consistent theme: “Do Not Be Afraid.” Through these four weeks of Advent, we will journey with Dr. Brené Brown, who is a social worker, researcher, and best-selling author. Dr. Brown’s work on vulnerability speaks to how we let fear–in many forms–affect our lives. Brené calls on us to live more fully into hope, peace, joy, and love through practicing vulnerability.
Classes will include scripture study, video presentations and discussion facilitated by Rev. Nancy, Rev. Vickie & Cindy D.
