Update on Designated Funds

The Coordinating Council has set a deadline for submitting a grant application for an award from Designated Funds. The application deadline is November 15, 2023. For more information, click here.

Property Updates

Thanks to everyone who offered a temporary residence solution to our new Lead Presbytery, David Rollins. David has contacted the one that is most convenient for his current needs. If you offered an option for David to consider, thanks so much for doing so!

Also, the Synod of South Atlantic has shared space with the Presbytery for many years. However, the Synod will be transitioning into a new facilities model and will no longer need the office space at the Presbytery Office. If anyone knows of a non-profit that would like to rent office space next to Lakewood Presbyterian Church, there are two offices available for rent. Please let the Presbytery Office know of any interest.

Presbytery Communication Update

As I go through my weekly duties, I am impressed, time and again, with the high quality of ministry being conducted within our presbytery! Sharing this good news with one another can lift us up as we serve Jesus Christ.

As a presbytery, we can help promote these works within our presbytery by way of our newsletter. If you would like to send us an item to distribute, please use communications@staugpres.org to share pictures, announcements, events, etc. with the Presbytery Office.

God bless,

Charlie

Upcoming Events at Montgomery Center

Presbyterian Women

Summer Gathering

First off, I want to thank you all for attending our Fall Kick-off on August 26. We had a great time. We had 111 women in one room (I know can you believe it). Emily Heeg, and Pastor Dana Riley got us energized by getting us talking about our own “Sacred Encounters” with our own experiences with our Journeys. An awesome lunch was served by the Montgomery Conference Center kitchen staff and some shopping was taking place from a couple of local artists with a portion given to PW. The day was finished off with door prizes of the centerpieces with a review of the building a bouquet fundraiser handout and worship with Communion by Rev. Lauren Scott with pianist Laurel Lamme.

We raised over $2,000 for OUR cabin at Montgomery. The presentation of the plaque was special at lunch. Thank you again, Lois, for your contact of having it made for us.

I have heard from a few people that it was a great gathering. They enjoyed the speakers' interactions with others.

I have received an email from Olive Mahabir that she wants to start planning our January Gathering. I will update you with all details as they develop, it will be exciting having the author of our study with us halfway through the study -- might be a good time to ask questions and look forward to the rest of the study.

As your moderator I could not do my job without each and everyone of you. Thank you does not feel like enough, but THANK YOU for all you do and showing up over and over again.
