In the Presbytery of St. Augustine Our mission is " to support our faith community, so that together we are a greater witness to the gospel of Jesus Christ!"

News From Around the Presbytery

Please be sure to scroll down to the Upcoming Events

section for more information about the 42nd Annual Gathering of the Presbyterian Women and all of our current events.

The congregation of First Presbyterian Church Fernandina Beach paused in between their worship services this past Sunday to recognize and celebrate Dawn Mayes’ 30 years of ordained service. Thirty years of ordained service is a huge milestone.

Dawn was described as an authentic servant leader. The Presbytery of St. Augustine gives thanks to God for Dawn’s ministry and all the ways Christ is served in and through First Presbyterian Church Fernandina Beach.

Being the Face of Christ in our Community is a Mission Statement St. Andrews strives to live for. Being involved for decades with the Westside Community Outreach food giveaway and helping with additional outreach programs. We are still seeing the devasting need for help with low-income families and watching the homeless population continue to grow on the 103rd westside.

A new program was started at St. Andrews by the many giving hands and large hearts of its members and volunteers. This community thrift store “The Hope Chest” allows for the community to have access to gently used clothes and other personal items needed at little cost or no cost at all. Choosing to not be satisfied with just a mission, St. Andrews Continues giving food to whom ever needs it and growing that into a Bread give away Mission. Wednesday’s at St. Andrews is not just about giving things to people, it is also about real spiritual growth for our community. A time for people who would otherwise not even be acknowledged to be seen to be heard to be prayed for.

Because hunger does not come with set times and the convenience of business hours St. Andrews just this year started yet a new mission to feed the homeless. It's a 24 hour food pantry, available for anyone to grab a snack and also allows the community to donate food at any time.

The joy of talking BoGos with members to help keep the 24 hour pantry stocked and/or listening to someone say hey I was driving by the church and saw someone getting food is music to my spirit. St. Andrews Church always evolving and walking with Christ in our Community .

Call to Serve

Are you called to serve God at the presbytery level? Several of our committees have positions that we need to fill to carry out our mission. We are looking for ruling elders and teaching elders that have time and energy to serve Christ beyond the local church.

For more information, please contact Beth Touchton, Volunteer Management Committee Chair,

or David Rollins, Lead Presbyter.
