In the Presbytery of St. Augustine Our mission is " to support our faith community, so that together we are a greater witness to the gospel of Jesus Christ!"

News From Around the Presbytery

Important Notice:

Last year The Presbytery of St. Augustine began the process of having all our active ministers go through Level 2 background checks.

If you were not in the first batch you will need to have yours completed this year.

Please be looking for an email as instructions will be sent out soon from First Choice Background Screening to those who will need to complete the process this year.

If you already have completed a Level 2 background check where you are engaged in ministry you can have your employer send a copy to us at david@staugpres.org

Thanks in advance for helping us all stay in compliance with the presbytery’s policies.

It's time to register! Please join us:

The WPC congregation worships in a beautiful, traditional church built in 1891. We are entering our 135th year in our much loved and often admired sanctuary.

Our mission is to bring people to Christ and to develop discipleship through worship and honoring God.

We have recently contracted Rev. Gene Anderson to fill our pulpit and lead us in our walk with the Lord. He has extensive schooling and has traveled to many places giving insight to how Christians around the world practice their beliefs.

Our congregation is small but growing, and we offer many activities for participation beyond our Sunday service. There is the Women’s Bible Study, the Operation Shoebox Sewing Group, the Senior’s Night Out and Tuesday Time Out Lunch. Every other year we have a craft show and sale “Harvest Happenings”, and 2026 will see us crafting and having our craft fair in the late Fall.

Local Missions we support include the Community of Gratitude Food Pantry, Shepherd’s LightHouse, Inc., Stanton Weirsdale Elementary School, Camp Montgomery and the outstanding, award-winning Boy Scout Troop #113!

Our website keeps you up to date with our uploaded Sunday services and has a newly added page which will have current activities and announcements. Please visit us at www.weirsdalepresbyterianchurch.org.

AND, please come visit us Sunday mornings at 10:30 for worship and a fellowship snack afterwards.

We would love to see you.

Call to Serve

Are you called to serve God at the presbytery level? Several of our committees have positions that we need to fill to carry out our mission. We are looking for ruling elders and teaching elders that have time and energy to serve Christ beyond the local church.

For more information, please contact Beth Touchton, Volunteer Management Committee Chair,

or David Rollins, Lead Presbyter.
