Well folks the time has come. The Bags are packs into the vehicles. Meals are planned. Gear is packed. Routes have been looked at. We embark out our 202 Boundary Waters Canoe Area trip today. 12 kids and 6 Adults split into two groups depart today and head north. It's hard to believe this day is finally hear. So much planning and preparation as gone into this. Socially distant planning meetings with other adults. Fundraising that has looked very different that it's been able to be done in the past. No Easter Breakfast or Bake Sale (Both things that I hope we'll be able to do next year), but I was still completely blown way by the generosity by this community.
I have so many hopes for this trip. A hope that everyone stays safe, the hope that we catch a fish, the hope that the forecast stays the way it is looking right now with plenty of sunshine and no rain and the hope that these kids and even adults can go into the BWCA and come out with a newer closeness to God that they didn't know before. We'll be looking at how you can "Sense God" How we can be with God through Touch, Smell, Taste, Hearing and even see God. What better place to sense God in the Wilderness of Northern Minnesota.
We ask as we head north today and paddle into the BWCA tomorrow that you say a few prayers for us.
Watch for us Tuesday morning as we try and Facebook Live from the entry point before we paddle in.
