— L. Sullivan
Mike's Reply:
Thank you for your question. When you're considering a new home improvement project,it's important to choose a qualified professional to protect your most important investment - your home.
5 Questions for Any Prospective Contractor:
- What do customers say? Search customer testimonials and reviews. Great sources include Google reviews, contractor websites and Facebook.
- Can I get job references? When you speak with a reference, ask them how satisfied they were with the overall job and what it was like working with the company. Would you recommend the company to your friends and family?
- Who will be working on the project? It is important to know how the process will go and who all will be involved. You can ask how many years of home improvement experience that each person has.
- What is your BBB rating? The Better Business Bureau has their highest rating of "A+ BBB rating." Businesses must comply with licensing requirements and the highest ethics when working with customers.
- Is the business legit? A reputable home improvement company has a current residential contractor's license, business registration, and carries workers compensation and liability insurance.
