To the Pace Community:
As the Thanksgiving break approaches, I’d like to thank the community for your continued dedication to safety practices and policies on Pace’s campuses. Our collective commitment to maintaining a healthy environment will continue to help keep each other, our families, and the Pace Community safe. While activities on campus feel like they are returning to normal this fall, more transmissible COVID-19 variants and other circulating respiratory viruses can be potentially disruptive. As you travel for the break and then return to campus, here are a few things to keep in mind:

Think about getting tested—before and after you travel. We strongly encourage you to know your status before you leave for and after you return from November break. You can use the University’s at-home rapid antigen tests or your own at-home tests. Test kits are available at Security desks. Also be mindful of how you’re feeling and pay attention to any potential symptoms. This will keep you, your loved ones at home, and your classmates and colleagues safer.

Stay current with flu vaccine and COVID-19 vaccination boosters. Vaccination is the best defense against both COVID-19 and the flu. It may be hard to tell the difference between flu and COVID-19 because many of the symptoms are similar. You can learn about the similarities and differences between flu and COVID-19 here, and you can talk to your health care provider about symptoms or scheduling a shot. Flu vaccines are available for the Pace Community on all campuses from University Health Care. Information about making an appointment can be found here.

As you prepare to return to campus, continue to practice smart, healthy behaviors. Wash your hands frequently, be careful about large gatherings, and if you’re not feeling well, stay home. The health and safety of our community relies on your responsible behavior, including getting tested if you have symptoms associated with COVID-19, the flu, or other respiratory viruses.

As always, please check Pace’s Return to Campus website frequently. If you have questions or concerns, please send an email to [email protected]. I wish you all a restful and pleasant November break, and I hope to see you all on campus Monday, November 28.
Be careful, and stay safe,
