We hope you are staying healthy and safe this spring. The evolving COVID-19 situation has caused anxiety and uncertainty for many of our fans right now, as well as our retailers. If you can, please support your local yarn store (and other makers in the industry) by purchasing gift cards, ordering online, or inquiring about other ways you can shop with them while minimizing your exposure (many are offering shopping via video chat with curbside pickup).

Please know that we are doing everything we can to keep our employees safe and disseminate as much helpful information as we can.

While social distancing is quickly becoming the norm, we hope you can still find strength, hope and community with us online.  With that in mind, we're pleased to announce our first Charity Craft-along for 2020 and a new FREE knitting pattern from designer Mone Drager.  Keep reading for to learn how to win great prizes as we knit and crochet socks for those in need this spring.

We also share our latest blog tutorial you may have missed: learn all about nupps and bobbles which are popping up in all kinds of patterns this spring. And if you plan on stash-diving during your extra time at home, stay tuned - next month, we'll be sharing tips and tricks for using (and re-using) yarns you already have on hand.

Last but not least, applications are now being accepted for the 2020 Beans for Brains scholarship fund from Jimmy Beans Wool - keep reading for more details.

Sincerely,
The Knitter's Pride Team

Warm Feet, Warm Heart Socks by Mone Dräger

We've teamed up with designer Mone Dräger to bring you a new FREE pattern to knit during our Spring Charity Craft-along!

Click here to learn more about Mone on our latest blog post.  Her sock design 'Warm Feet, Warm Heart' was designed especially for charity knitting, having unknown recipients in mind. Knitted almost entirely in ribbing patterns with an integrated heel, the socks have sufficient elasticity to fit differently shaped feet and even accommodate to the needs of people with swollen ankles.

Students who apply for the Community Service Award must fulfill all of the regular scholarship requirements (yes, you still need to fill out the application and submit photos of a knit, crochet or woven project!), as well as submit two letters of recommendation and a 1000-1500 word essay describing your community project, your involvement in this project, and how your project enhanced and/or added value to your life.

Awardee will be selected based on all scholarship requirements and the strength of the community service project, level of commitment and overall experience, as described in your essay. The winner will receive a $2500 scholarship award.
