Staying Put Office is Moving!

We have exciting news! Staying Put will soon be relocating our office to:

65 Locust Avenue, First Floor

While our move date is not finalized, we hope to settle into our new space this summer. Please see 'A Note from Gina' that follows for more information.

New Canaan Summer Theater's "Matilda"

A Note from Gina About Staying Put’s New Home

When I joined Staying Put as Executive Director more than four years ago, one of the first things I heard was, “The building is for sale, but don’t worry, it will never sell.”

Being someone who likes to plan ahead, I quietly began keeping an eye on space around town, just in case. Over the years, I toured dozens of properties and learned a great deal about New Canaan commercial real estate. It turns out that preparation was a good thing. When we were notified that our lease would not be renewed beyond September 2026, we were ready. Thanks to years of planning, networking, and evaluating potential locations, we had a clear understanding of what we needed in a new home so it would serve as both a functional workplace for staff and a welcoming gathering space for our members. Our key priorities have remained consistent: accessibility, convenient and adequate parking, flexible gathering space, and a central location that is easy for members and volunteers to visit.

I am delighted to share that Staying Put has signed a lease for new office space at 65 Locust Avenue!

Our new space includes:

More than 1,500 square feet
An open office workspace
Two private offices
A large meeting and gathering room
Kitchen/storage space
Accessible restrooms directly outside our suite
Convenient parking on the same level as the entrance, plus covered parking with elevator access, and 2-hour free street parking in the area
A central location that is easy to reach and stop by

The space is currently being renovated to meet our needs, and we expect to move in late July or early August. During the transition, the office may be closed for a few days while we relocate, and we appreciate your patience as we make the move.

For more than 14 years, 58 Pine Street has been a wonderful home for Staying Put. It has grown with us, welcomed countless members, volunteers, and visitors, and become a place filled with memories. While we were saddened to learn that the building sold as part of a larger transaction involving neighboring buildings, we are incredibly excited about this next chapter. Our new home will be more than just an office, it will be a hub, a welcoming place where members can gather for activities, meet friends, enjoy a cup of coffee, borrow a book, or simply stop in to ask a question or to say hello.

We can't wait to welcome you through the doors and show you around. Stay tuned for details about open house celebrations for members, volunteers, supporters, community partners, and friends of Staying Put.

We look forward to making new memories together at 65 Locust Avenue!

Road Closures for Summer Construction Projects

Aquarion Water Company has announced their plans for continuing work on their Southwest Regional Pipeline in New Canaan for this year. General hours of operation are 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Mon. – Fri. and are weather dependent. Local traffic, emergency vehicles and school buses will be allowed thru the work zone.
