TIP FROM NIC

The vast majority of Staying Put members have successfully secured at least their first COVID vaccine. Many who receive the second dose report a stronger immune reaction than they experienced with the first: pain at the injection site, headache, fever, chills, body aches, and fatigue - or what one person described as “a really long hangover”. If you experience these symptoms, rest, stay hydrated, and take Tylenol/acetaminophen. Even if you have received both doses of the vaccine, continue taking precautions: mask, social distance, and wash hands frequently. It takes about 2 weeks after receiving the second vaccine for your body to build up full immunity. Continuing precautions is also important to protect others. Even vaccinated individuals can carry the virus and potentially transmit it to others.

Call the office and Nicola is happy to discuss this and other issues. 203-966-7762.
