The coronavirus that's packing people in hospitals as they grapple with sometimes life-threatening complications is leading to another problem for some survivors: mental health issues.

While the entire globe has been focused on battling COVID-19, our nation’s ongoing opioid crisis has not disappeared. In fact, it may be worsening.

One-third of young people across the country may be at risk of getting seriously sick with COVID-19, especially if they smoke or vape, according to a  UCSF study  published Monday in the Journal of Adolescent Health.
