I hope that you and your loved ones are staying safe and healthy during this incredibly challenging time for our country. I know you are probably overwhelmed by all the information you are receiving about COVID-19 as well as its impacts on the global economy. As our country adjusts to new norms of social distancing these next few weeks, we are continuing our efforts to ensure that you have the information and resources to protect yourself as a consumer.
We are very mindful that a public health crisis like COVID-19 will disproportionately impact marginalized and under-resourced communities that already face unjust barriers to healthcare, financial stability, and stable housing. This moment reinforces that our efforts to dismantle these barriers is more necessary than ever. In this uncertain time, we remain committed to fighting for a Georgia where everyone prospers and communities thrive.
Here are a few things we are doing to help consumers:
- We are monitoring COVID-19 scams and producing resources to inform consumers about how to protect themselves;
- We are working with partners to advocate for expanded healthcare access for low-income and uninsured Georgians to mitigate the impacts of COVID-19 and slow the spread;
- We are taking calls through our hotline and providing guidance to consumers in this time of need.
Thank you for your support as we continue our work to protect and inform Georgians. We're all in this together and we'll get through it together.
Stay safe,
