The Steamboat Boys' High School Tennis Team displayed their best showing in years with three out of seven lines qualifying for the State Championship tournament that will be held in Pueblo, Colorado, Thursday, October 16 - 18.
"This was the Boys' High School Tennis team's best performance in years," said Jason Scicchitano, Director of Tennis, Steamboat Tennis and Pickleball Complex. "We wouldn't have a High School Tennis team if it weren't for our incredible Tennis Center, and I can't wait to see how the future of the sport in Steamboat develops as we finish the renovations of our facility, providing a world-class tennis venue for our youth athletes for generations."
Regional Results for our Sailors that placed are below:
#1 Singles - Ibrokhim Nuriddinov, 2nd place
#2 Singles - Preston Gautreaux, 2nd place
#3 Singles - Matthew MacEntee, 3rd place
#1 Doubles - Gabriel Merage and Garret Moyer, 4th place
#3 Doubles - Will Volk and Coen Dore, 3rd place
#2 Doubles Hank Ince and Jackson Tormey and #4 Doubles Ryan Becker and Mitchell McClarney played really well against tough opponents to close out a fabulous season.
