From Kimberly McHugh, Director or Marketing:

The Steamship Authority experienced a cyberattack on June 2. Rest assured that the boats are safe and we are diligently working on reinstating the reservation system (there is no exact timeline yet).

What do visitors need to know if traveling this weekend?

1. Our ferries are safe - and yes, all passengers still need to wear a mask inside or outside since we are a public transportation system.

2. Allow a little extra time - there are some delays at the terminals but our operations have not been impacted by this cyber attack.

3. Bring cash to pay for passenger tickets and parking - credit card service is limited so cash is preferred at this time.

4. Right now we cannot make or change a reservation, so it's best to arrive early and check-in with the agent on duty. Travelers should bring their vehicle reservation confirmation or reservation number when checking in. We will be waiving any and all cancellation or change fees, should travelers experience delays or unable to travel for any reason.

5. Please be patient and kind to our staff, they are under more stress than usual because of the volume of passengers/vehicles.
