From the Principal
Dear Steele families,

As the news around coronavirus continues to evolve on a daily basis, we understand you may have questions about how our school community will be handling a potential outbreak. Denver Public Schools is following guidance from city and state health departments to ensure we keep our students safe. The following letter outlines in more details that steps DPS is taking: Coronavirus Letter

This year Steele will be celebrating Holi as a school.  We believe it is important to celebrate and educate our students about many cultures, and Holi is a fun way for students to learn about Indian traditions.

Holi is the Indian festival of colors, celebrated during spring, when new colors appear in nature. It symbolizes inclusiveness and new beginnings. Traditionally colored powders are thrown on each other (think of a color run).

holiWe are going to be celebrating the Indian spring festival of Holi, next Tuesday 3/10 at 2:30 pm on the blacktop. We hope you can share in this special experience with us.

WPHTWASH PARK HOME TOUR, SATURDAY 5/9
Student Greeters Needed May 9 from 10AM-2PM
What better way to teach your child the value of giving back to their community than by volunteering together? Students in the 4th and 5th grade have the unique opportunity of greeting guests at any of the homes on the tour. Adult family members are highly encouraged to volunteer with each Student Greeter, so if your child is interested in being a greeter then please sign up as soon as possible to ensure you can find a volunteer position for yourself at the same home and time as your child. Speaking of which, the Home Tour still need lots of House Captains and House Monitors. As House Captain, your role will be to manage the other volunteers at the home and assist them as needed. House Monitors act as ambassadors and direct guests through the home. So take a moment today to sign yourself up for one of these positions and your 4th or 5th grader up to be a Student Greeter at the same home. Think of all the memories you'll make!

Just visit Membership Tool Kit and login to view all the volunteer needs and pick the time that works best for you. For more information, please contact Nisha Ashley.
