From the Principal
Dear Steele Families,

With this year nearing an end, I know many of you are wondering what the plan for next year is. Unfortunately, we don't have any specifics just yet. DPS is working with local health officials to determine the safest way for schools to reopen in the fall. We should have more information by the end of the month. In the meantime, we are working on closing out this year in the best way possible. Teachers will be allowed back in the building starting next week on a limited basis to clean out classrooms. They are working on separately scheduled days, so some teachers won't be in the building until the following week.  Families will not be permitted in the building at any point for the rest of this school year. If your child has any belongings in their classroom, teachers will bag them and arrange for you to come pick them up. Any items not retrieved by May 29th will be disposed of.

If your child borrowed a ChromeBook or iPad they will keep them over the summer. This includes our 5th grade students. DPS is committed to ensuring that all students are prepared if we do need to have a remote learning option in the fall. Only students leaving the district will be asked to return their borrowed technology. If you know you will not be back in DPS next year, please reach out to Ms. Melissa to arrange the return of borrowed technology.

I look forward to seeing all of the field day pictures from today! I am also excited to announce that we will have a virtual art show on May 15th.

Also, remember that next Friday, May 15th is the last day to send in your talent show submissions. Enter them here:  https://flipgrid.com/shah6908

Check out this week's   Caught in the Act Winners. If they missed their names being called on the announcements you can see it here.

Stay healthy!

Marti

Support Our Stallion Families
The Steele PTA has set up a  GoFundMe page for a Steele family in need  and a   GoFundMe page for the Mears family . Please read their stories and help if you can.

Does your family need help? If so please reach out to the  Steele PTA or to our principal,  Marti Rosenberg.  No PTA funds can be used for these purposes but we can use our communications to reach our community.

CLUE Fall Fundraiser News
(this event took place last Nov. 9 and all monies have previously been collected)

All remaining Steele Exclusives and Teacher Experiences will be cancelled for the school year. Our Steele community greatly values these events which allow us to socialize in a non-school environment. The current events make it unsafe to carry on with their original intent.  Sadly, we are unable to reschedule events due to logistics, timing and availability.
All costs of these events are shouldered by their hosts so all proceeds can go straight towards our PTA fundraising goals. If you signed up for an event that was cancelled, please consider it now as a direct donation towards our fundraising campaign. If that is simply unacceptable please reach out to  [email protected]and we can issue a refund.

All live auction events will be handled on a case by case basis and winners will be directly contacted.

Stay Steele Strong!
