Steele's Lost & Found area is located just outside the cafeteria entrance. Please check regularly for items belonging to your child.
All leftover Lost & Found items are donated on the last school day of each month.
Clothes to Kids of Denver (CTKD) provides students in-need or in-crisis with a week's worth of school clothes, including a winter coat. Bring your donations to school any time and place them in the grey CTKD bin located outside the cafeteria. Questions? Email our school's Bin Champion,

From the Principal

Dear Steele Families,
Ms. Emily Joy, our amazing art teacher, has worked really hard to ensure we are able to celebrate the incredible artwork our students created this year. We hope you enjoy our
Virtual Art Show.
Teachers have been in the building all week cleaning out their classrooms and packing up student belongings. Families will be able to retrieve their child's belongings on Tuesday, May 26th. Starting at 10:00 am, bags for each student will be placed outside by class. Families can come and retrieve them any time 10:00-5:00. Please make sure you are wearing a mask and comply with social distance recommendations when you come to pick up your things.
We are also requesting that you return all borrowed classroom and library books at this time. Look for boxes near your class to leave them in.
Here's where to find your class:
-
K and 1st - In front of the school
-
2nd and 3rd- In the parking lot
-
4th main playground or as directed by the teacher
-
5th- while picking up continuation certificates on 5/28 or 5/29 in the parking lot
Stay healthy!
Marti

CSC Elections Results
Congratulations and thank you to our new CSC reps, Maile Rains and Mary Thomas! We know they will do a fantastic job serving our school for the next two years. And a big thank you to Ali Sweeney and Tawny Becker, our outgoing CSC representatives! We appreciate your time and energy spent contributing to our school over the last two years.
Pre-Order School Supplies by 7/1
For the 2020-21 school year, we are continuing our partnership with 1st Day School Supplies. Families can purchase kits which will be delivered to your child's classroom teacher. Steele will receive a small number of free kits based on the number of families who order through this service. We have extended this year's deadline to order by two weeks to July 1. We understand these are difficult times and if you find that purchasing supplies is a hardship, please reach out to your teacher or
Marti Rosenberg to reserve a free/or reduced cost kit. Contact our school supply coordinator
Johanna Woodrow with any questions.

Ways to Help During This Time
Some families have asked how to help the community during this time. Here are some ideas.
- Our sister school, Ellis Elementary, could really use some Stallion support right now! If you are able to give, they have a GoFundMe page to learn more. All donations will be handled by Ellis Elementary's PTO and will be given to families in need at their school to pay for rent, utilities, food, etc.
