From the Principal
Dear Steele Families,

This school year is quickly coming to a close but there is more fun to be had!

If 't be true thee were depressed about missing the Shakespeare festival, feareth not.  Mr.  Miller hast did save the day!  Check out the full festival here. You can find our Stallions by scrolling on the side once you've opened the link. Our groups are near the end.

talent
In case you didn't know, we have a very talented group of students at Steele. Lucky for you they have agreed to share their talents via our virtual talent show. Check them out here: https://flipgrid.com/+shah6490

As a reminder, next week is student item pick up. I misstated the dates for 5th grade in the Stallion last week. Please note the change in the schedule  here .

Check out this week's Caught in the Act Winners . If they missed their names being called on the announcements you can see it here.

Enjoy the long weekend!

Pre-Order School Supplies by 7/1
For the 2020-21 school year, we are continuing our partnership with    1st Day School Supplies.  Families can purchase kits which will be delivered to your child's classroom teacher.  Steele will receive a small number of free kits based on the number of families who order through this service. We have extended this year's deadline to order by two weeks to July 1.  We understand these are difficult times and if you find that purchasing supplies is a hardship, please reach out to your teacher or  Marti Rosenberg to reserve a free/or reduced cost kit. Contact our school supply coordinator  Johanna Woodrow with any questions.

Garden Update
Steele Families needed in the Garden! The irrigation is in, and we are kicking the Garden into high gear! We need your help to maintain weed-free beds and pathways during the summer "break." If you are sick of making sourdough, try your hand at Urban Farming! Plant seeds with the kids, enjoy fresh air, and reward your hard work with fresh produce--yours to harvest until the start of school! All surplus produce will be donated.

Sign up here  for a bed or two. Social Distancing in effect. No experience required; we will help all thumbs become green. Contact April Amiel 303.715.8676 or Theresa Nuber 415.602.0652 with questions.

Ways to Help During This Time
Some families have asked how to help the community during this time. Here are some ideas.
  • Our sister school, Ellis Elementary, could really use some Stallion support right now! If you are able to give, they have a GoFundMe page to learn more. All donations will be handled by Ellis Elementary's PTO and will be given to families in need at their school to pay for rent, utilities, food, etc.
