From the Principal
Dear Steele families,
We had a wonderful time welcoming our kindergarten students to school this week. Although they were here in small groups, the level of excitement and joy was incredible. We can’t wait until all of our Stallions are back in our building.
We will have safety orientation days the week of October 12th for all of our 2nd -5th grade students. On their orientation day, grade levels will be at Steele all day. They will have literacy and math instruction, but will spend much of the day practicing our safety protocols and procedures. On Wednesday, October 21st all of our in-person students will be back at Steele. Here is the orientation schedule:
Monday, 10/12- 2nd grade orientation
Tuesday, 10/13- 3rd grade orientation
Wednesday, 10/14- 4th grade orientation
Thursday, 10/15- 5th grade orientation
Friday, 10/16 -Non student contact day all grades
Please make sure you are completing the health screen for your students before they come to school. We will also do a quick check, but appreciate you taking the time to fill out a brief health survey. Here is the Safe Access Link
Have you been wondering why your school supply kit contained so many glue sticks-or construction paper, or scissors? It’s because we have each grade level purchase supplies that are used communally in art class. In normal years, teachers send those supplies to Ms. Emily Joy to use in class. This year, we need to be very careful with supplies, but we still need them. We will be collecting unused art supplies in baskets outside our cafeteria all next week. Volunteers will sort them to make individual packs for kids. No worries if you've used your supplies- enjoy them! Any additional supplies needed will be purchased by our amazing PTA!
Have a great weekend!

School News and Announcements
Keep STEELE STRONG and Support Our School!
With fundraising opportunities limited this year and budgetary concerns looming, it is vital that we come together as a community and support Steele--its staff, teachers, and students need us! Make your donation (and ask if your company can match it!) to help keep our classroom teachers, full time music and art, drama program, gifted and talented, and special education.
We have reached over 20% of our goal of $200,000 with only 10% of our families contributing thus far. Let's come together for 100% participation!
