Dear Steele Families,
This week Steele students participated in our second Stallion Stampede of the school year. A Stallion Stampede is when our entire school participates in the same Social/ Emotional Lesson. This month we are exploring how we can have the courage to take risks and how to help others do the same. We listened to the book The Day You Begin read by the author, Jaqueline Woodson, and talked about how we are all fabulous in our own way. You can listen to the story here.
Each class discussed the following big idea and focus questions:
Big Idea:
- I can understand why it’s important to not measure myself to others and to embrace all the ways that I’m fabulous.
Focus Questions:
- How can I “make space” for myself?
- How can I “make space” for others?
Ask your child about the book cover they made about themselves showcasing all that makes them fabulous!
Caught in the Acts will resume next week:)
Have a great weekend!
Marti
