Steele Community Cookbook Update
Thank you to the many who have submitted recipes! While we are no longer accepting new recipes, the team is editing the book and getting ready for publication. We are SO grateful to our sponsors with whom we now have $6400 in committed funds. We are just $3600 shy of our target that we need in order to go to print. Virtual PTA Meeting and Parent Education Night, 11/10, 6PM
Make sure to stay updated with the latest information at our monthly PTA meetings. Hear from our PTA presidents and officers, as well as Principal Rosenberg. This month is extra special as our meeting will be directly followed by a Parent Education Talk. Join us as we learn how to talk with kids about race, equity, and justice from Dr. Edelina Burciaga. This will be a welcoming space for a discussion on raising race conscious kids.
SDO at Noodles and Company, 11/18, 4-8PM
Support our school and enjoy a delicious dinner at this month's Steele Dines Out at Noodles and Company (1502 S Colorado Blvd). In-person, take-away, and online orders are all part of this fundraiser where Noodles and Company will give our school 25% back. Make sure to tell them you are with Steele Elementary when you order (or put in the code, GIVING25, in the coupon code line of your online order).
Picture Day
In talking with Life Touch and looking at the weather forecast for the days we have slotted for pictures, we are concerned with having photographers and students being in the elements. We are going to reschedule for spring with the caveat that if there are any days in January or February that look promising weather-wise, we can move picture day up in the calendar. I know this has been a crazy year and we are trying our best to make sure that everyone stays healthy and safe. I appreciate your understanding and grace with this decision.
Scholastic Book Fair
The Online Scholastic Book Fair is still open! Click below for a direct link to Steele's Homepage to shop for thousands of books and fun items. All purchases ship directly to your home. Free Shipping for purchases over $25.00. All purchases benefit the Steele Library to buy even more books for your kids to read! Thanks for your support!
Middle School Information
Due to COVID restrictions, we are unable to host a Middle School Night this year. However, we are creating a resource for 5th grade students and families that will have videos and resources to help with your decision making process. We hope to share this the first week in December.
Steele Elementary Private Facebook Page
We love our school and our community! We strive to make Steele inclusive and welcoming to all (even when we disagree), and that extends to our online community as well. Please make sure when you post to our private Facebook page that you are keeping this in mind and adhering to our posted rules and guidelines.
Community Evening 12/8
Steele will be hosting a virtual community evening event on December 8th from 6:00-7:30. A Queer Endeavor will discuss creating safe and inclusive schools for LGBTQ students. You can read more about their work here.
