Remote Learning Support Centers Offered Through Extended Learning
Remote Learning Support Centers will be available at 30 locations for families who need support from 7 a.m. – 4 p.m with a capacity of 30 students per site. The majority of locations will cost $16 per day, with 8 grant-funded locations being provided free to families who attend those schools. Spots at Remote Learning Support Centers are limited, and the 30 spots available are on a first come, first-served basis. You can choose the site closest to you during registration, however Steele will be one of the sites to choose from.
Free breakfast and lunch will be available, and students can also bring their own allergy aware meals. We will be asking that students bring their own snacks and water bottles. Families who enroll their students in remote learning support should ensure that students arrive with charged laptops and headphones to participate in remote learning. We will make sure to send students’ computers home with them each night.
Registration for remote learning support opens by 6 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 19. Cost to families is $16 per day. DPS is paying the other half of the total cost. If this cost is prohibitive to your family, contact discovery_link@dpsk12.org to see how we may be able to support. Please note that cost is subject to change after December if remote learning continues.

Once you are granted access to the calendar, if you try to enroll and it is not showing up, please send an email to Program Supervisor, Randall Geary. School Psychologist
As many of you know, Dr. Liz will be out on maternity leave within the next two weeks. DPS school psychologist, Jordan Hamad, will be taking over full time for Dr. Liz while she is out. Mrs. Hamad can be reached at Jordan_hamad@dpsk12.org.

Forgotten Heroes Campaign
Great news! Our Steele Community raised a total of $439.86 for the Forgotten Heroes Campaign. This campaign will utilize the money you raised to purchase awards and medals which veterans may have earned but never received while they were on active duty. FHC has awarded medals such as: The Silver Star, The Bronze Star, Purple Heart, and various other awards which veterans have earned while overseas.
