Dear Steele Families,
We’ve had such a fun week! We started things off with an Olympic torch relay. One student from each class carried the torch and then we “lit” the Olympic cauldron. Coach Welch has been engaging kids in Olympic activities all week.
On Monday, we also had our February Stallion Stampede. As a school we read, What is Given From the Heart by Patricia C. McKissack and we discussed the following:
Big Idea:
How can I give from my heart?
Focus Questions:
- What does it mean to give from the heart?
- When might I give from the heart?
Students have been working on creating compliments from the heart and are decorating the school with them!

Have a great weekend!

School Choice Ends Next Tuesday, February 15th at 4pm:
*YOU DO NOT NEED TO FILL OUT A CHOICE FORM IF YOUR STUDENT IS ALREADY ENROLLED AT STEELE AND YOU ARE NOT SWITCHING SCHOOLS. However you will need to complete registration at a later date.
Incoming NEW students (K thru 5th), and transitioning 5th to 6th grade students need to complete the school choice application. Please visit the Denver Public Schools - Choice and Enrollment web page for any questions. Scroll down to a blue or green box (color may vary) that says Apply for Round 1 School Choice.
SchoolChoice Resources:
The 2022-23 SchoolChoice application window opened January 14th and ends February 15th at 4pm. Now is the time our families begin planning for next year. We've put together plenty of resources, including the annual Great Schools Enrollment Guides. Families can also check out a digital version of the guide, or access our mobile-friendly school search tool, School Finder.
