Dear Steele Families,
As we enter the final stretch of the school year we are excited to have many opportunities to come together as a community. Be sure to check the calendar to make sure you’re aware of all that is happening in the coming weeks.
One special event that we want to make sure you know about is the community circle on Friday, May 13. Prior to COVID, Steele had regular community circles. Community circles are a time when all of our students and staff get together to sing and celebrate. We are excited to bring this Steele tradition back and will be celebrating it with our entire community. Families are welcome to join the community circle May 13th at 8:30 on our blacktop. We hope to see you there!

Have a great weekend!

Eid Celebration: May 5, 2022, at 2:15 pm
At Steele, diversity is one of our core values! Join us on Friday, May 5th at 2:15pm to celebrate Eid. Many of our students here at Steele celebrate Eid, an Arabic word meaning “celebration/feast that repeats”. From 2:15-3:00pm, we will enjoy a musical performance on the school field presented by Swallow Hill Music. Classrooms will also be sharing dates, a traditional treat eaten to break fast during Ramadan and students will all receive small henna tattoos in celebration of this joyous day. Please join us for this celebration!

Pre-Order School Supplies by June 30!
It's time to pre-order your school supplies! The Steele PTA will be collaborating with 1st Day School Supplies again this year to help get your students the classroom supplies they will use next school year.
Steele will be using this program as a fundraiser where $3 from every kit sold will go to our PTA. We have included a Donate a Kit button if families want to sponsor additional kits for families that may need one. If you find that purchasing a kit for your children is a hardship, please reach out to your teacher or Ms. Rosenberg to reserve a donated kit.
